The last week at work before the holiday break. A gift-exchange with my Dungeons and Dragons friends ends with digging for gems. I fly out to North Carolina to bring gifts and visit Zach’s sister’s beautiful farm and all her little sheep before heading back home to celebrate Christmas with my family.

A week of holiday parties at work, celebrating Zach’s birthday on his real birthday, and road tripping to Vegas to continue the festivities. Stopping at a ghost town, experiencing peak Vegas kitsch at the Peppermill, and enjoying all the food and drinks Vegas has to offer.

Walking into the week with metallic shoes and walking out with a stomach full of Mickey-shaped treats and a festive heart. A week with folks in town, starting the advent calendars (yes, plural!), decorating for the Christmas season, and spending a lot of time with friends.

A warm and cozy week home with my family during the Thanksgiving holiday. A brief intermission traveling up to the Bay Area on Thanksgiving night for a beautiful wedding in Carmel Valley. Glenn gets new digs. Lots of food—menudo, dried persimmon, fusion Japanese food, Thanksgiving food, and leftovers of course.

This is day 1 of 20 days in Southeast Asia. Here Zach and I spend our first day in Bangkok, Thailand wandering the veins and arteries of Chinatown before taking a water taxi up to Banglamphu to see Khao San Road, the Contemporary Art Center, and many Wats along the way. Enjoy!

A week of being a lazy slug during the week and literally struggling along at the hardest puzzle I’ve ever attempted. A three day weekend full of walking around downtown, Korean fried chicken, takoyaki, queso, crashing the LA pug meet up (with my dog in a tote bag), and cosmic encounters.

The week leading up to my first ever 10K race (taking place at Disneyland through both parks). Spending the weekend after the race on a retreat in the wilderness (with lots of chickens).

Enjoying the last week of longer days before we fall back an hour. Celebrating Halloween at a bar (where nobody else was celebrating). Food: empanadas, tacos, cheese boards, clam chowder bread bowls, and korean fried chicken. Accompanying my little cousins to their birthday trip to Disneyland (and the Bippity Boppity Boutique), and spending time with my dad over his birthday weekend.

First week back in Los Angeles after three weeks abroad in Southeast Asia. Battling jetlag, seeing friends, eating nothing but junk, and getting back into the routine of life in LA while attempting to embrace the Halloween-time glee in 100 degree weather.

Last day in Bangkok before taking the overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai and spending the day wandering the old city and the evening in an Asia Scenic Thai cooking class.

A big work project kicks off, a preview of a few of the Getty PST shows, a peek into my Forged in Fire obsession, Rachel and Stu visit from San Francisco, Disneyland, dealing with Sufi’s back problems, and the Los Angeles County Fair. Yes, there is fried food.
