MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: NOVEMBER 20–26, 2017!
A warm and cozy week home with my family during the Thanksgiving holiday. A brief intermission traveling up to the Bay Area on Thanksgiving night for a beautiful wedding in Carmel Valley. Glenn gets new digs. Lots of food—menudo, dried persimmon, fusion Japanese food, Thanksgiving food, and leftovers of course.
Enjoy!
Got to cherish the mornings that the two pups are sitting near each other. My dream is to catch them cuddling.
Lunch, some flavored chicken karaage—basil and cheese, garlic and pepper, and regular.
My eczema has been bad on my face but I didn’t look that bad here so I thought here you go! Selfie.
Staff walking over to see the Caravaggio installation that just opened up.
Three paintings on loan from Galleria Borghese.
Got home and saw a big box for me had finally arrived. Finally!!! I know it’s my new terrarium I ordered a while ago and it took so so long to ship.
NOOOO! It’s…broken. I took some photos and emailed them and unfortunately couldn’t have a new one sent so got a refund. I guess it was kind of dumb of me to try to get a glass terrarium shipped. Oops.
Fancy dinner. Happy 5! Only got blurry photos.
Got these little crime scene bubbles to hang on the wall.
Friends as I was leaving work on Tuesday.
Visiting Zach’s camp and it’s NOT hip enough for me.
Wednesday I worked remotely from home to be able to help my mom with some Thanksgiving prep.
Peeling and drying persimmons from my uncle’s tree
Later that day, dismissed from work and off to shoot my cousin’s family portraits for their holiday cards.
Some peeks from my fujifilm, but I shot the majority on the Canon 5D Mark II.
Driving back from the park we thought we’d stop for some seafood.
Spicy lobster at Newport Seafood ugh ugh ugh so sososososo good.
Editing some photos to send back over to my cousin.
My mom burned some toast on Thanksgiving morning but the smokey vibes made the window light look particularly lovely.
In bed editing and just being a little bit of a Thanksgiving slug.
In my neighbor’s cozy little house borrowing her oven to cook the sweet potato casserole I’m in charge of.
I made the sweet potato mash last night and added the marshmallows to bake
Waiting for the oven and I see my dad come by looking for me haha.
Just obsessing over the light in this house
Finished it off in our oven at home and read to go!
My little cousin’s drawings: a polar bear and a shopkin
Left Thanksgiving dinner and headed out to a very very empty airport.
Flying from Los Angeles to San Jose to meet up with Zach. He’s flying from Utah to Oakland and will be driving to me and picking me up. We’re heading to his friend’s wedding tomorrow.
Arrived in San Jose, now it’s time to wait.
I was waiting in the airport for approximately 2.5 hours, literally the last passenger in the building. Passed the time getting through half of The Butchering Art
Just before 1am I got picked up! Zach made it! Turns out his flight was delayed.
Made it to the airbnb where Zach’s other friends were already there…asleep. It was around 2am at this point.
Good morning! Sleepy but getting ready.
On the way to Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley
Arrived! Views from the little golf carts that took us up the hill.
Struttin’ to the groom’s procession meet up.
Delicious lil’ snack during cocktail hour.
A few more pictures from the day.
Only one awake in the airbnb, snuck around and made coffee.
A few hours later, already back at an airport. This time the tiny Monterey airport.
Chilled by myself in the waiting room.
Hit up Tokyo Table, a semi-new place
My mom picking out treats at JJ bakery.
Goodnight! Back in LA on Saturday.
Sunday morning, unusually foggy in the neighborhood. My dad is rushing around to get us out the door to breakfast.
My mom ordered what I normally order, chorizo and eggs.
Mom and I stopped by Goodwill and I got a new lil’ friend.
Stopped by Petco as well and they had two different pairs of cats cuddling.
Turkey soup leftovers and a bao
Bringing the pups back to my apartment.
So at Petco I bought a replacement terrarium cuz Glenn had to wait so long for the online order to come I figured I’d just get it in real life.
Was lovely to be home with my family.
Much love friends.
Happy anniversary to you and Zach!!! Wow, it’s been 5 years already!
It’s always lovely to see your workplace on your posts…definitely makes me want to go to the Getty in the future…
Where did you get that crime scene bubble? It’s so cute.
Oh, what game is that you’re playing? Looks interesting…
Again, I love seeing photos of your family! Soooo many little cousins.
Ahhhh, your neighbor’s house is so beautiful!!! The light is crazy amazing. And hah, that pic of your dad peeking is too precious. So nice that you caught that!
That wedding is so beautiful! The bride and groom look so good 🙂 Funny how everyone is getting married…& I actually had to search San Jose and Carmel Valley on the map ahahaha. California is huge!
So nice to see all these photos of you spending time with your parents. Brings back so much memories for sure! I have a serious question though: how do you manage to stay fit/skinny??? Haha all the food is so yummy!
Another question: do you have days where you just lounge around and waste away (haha)? Love how all your days are activity-filled though. How do you fit posting here to your days? 🙂 I feel like I would need one whole day to do that if it were me (but then again I’m super lazy ahaha)
I did notice there was no tradition of having thanksgiving leftovers with your highschool friends! 😦
Have a good weekend, Sarah! 🙂

Thank you!!!! I know…where has time gone? (Well I suppose I have the last 10 years documented here so it shouldn’t be a question of what I’ve been doing ahah).
The crime scene bubble was a gift from Zach, he won’t disclose where he got it…sorry, not even to me. Makes me suspicious that he had to kill for it.
California is quite big, and has so many different landscapes as you drive from South to North. We have deserts, canyons, valleys, mountains, forests…we have Yosemite! So much to see, I still have so much I’d love to do just within my state.
I appreciate being home more and more every time I get a chance to spend a few nights there. I guess comes with getting a bit older and having some space from living there full time. I love cooking with my mom now, I’m sure she appreciates it too.
I run during the week! Thankful to have a gym at work.
AND YES OF COURSE I have lazy days (I feel like I have them a lot! Like…maybe too frequently). I’ve been feeling guilty that I haven’t been editing photos from my trip as much…ugh so much I want to get done!
And yes sadly nobody was in town for our leftovers potluck! 😦
Hope you’re having a great week!
