A chilly week in Los Angeles. We go bowling, watch the last of the Olympic games, try a Korean dish for the first time, and Zach breaks his toe and Sufi hurts his back (again). I escape to the Huntington gardens to look for cherry blossoms and have a Sunday sashimi dinner with my parents.

A cloudy start to the week leads into a few sick days at home. I conquer my cold and am determined to see Lunar New Year celebrations at Disneyland before retreating into total Winter Olympics 2018 obsession.

This is day 3 and 4 of 20 days in Southeast Asia. Our last day in Bangkok we visit the Jim Thompson House Museum, buy backpacks at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, eat hotpot, visit Erawan Shrine, and see the Snake Farm. Later in the evening, we catch an overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We explore Chiang Mai’s Old City, eat grilled tilapia, visit the Lanna Folk Art Museum and take a Thai cooking class in the evening.

My work week featured Gabby, hand pies, a day at the Getty Villa, and a slip and fall that left me with a stupid bruise that I thought *might* prevent me from ski lessons. But I made it to Park City, Utah, conquered a blue run, spent time with Zach’s family, and we made it back to Los Angeles after a 12-hour road trip. Beautiful food and landscapes along the way.
