MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JANUARY 21–27, 2019!
This week I visit the metal shop at work, watch two versions of RENT, take my dogs on a long walk through an actually green Los Angeles park (shocking), and organize my scarves.
Enjoy!
Good morning! Today is Martin Luther King Day, so we have the day off. I’m still recovering from a nasty cold, so I spent the morning lounging around the house.
Let them outside for a little sun time. It’s a hard life they live.
Drove out to San Gabriel. I thought had a dermatologist appointment (turns out I wrote it down wrong) and my sick butt was a little distraught we came out so far so we treated ourselves to some hot pot.
And mine! I got Japanese miso. Comes with cabbage, udon, pork, enoki mushroom ,clam, fish ball, more fish, maitake mushroom, crab, fried tofu skin, soft tofu, egg, and green onion. It was…exactly what I needed.
Stopped by to see Tubby (and my parents)
Then back home to relax before pottery
Popped out seven pieces (including one I dropped so I made a weird shape with hit haha)
Back in the office! It is a short week for us so let’s enjoy…
Home to Masterchef Zach making chili and soup simultaneously.
BEFORE AND AFTER!! Who wore it better? Who had the more shocking transformation? (Well clearly it is Tweedy because multiple people DMed me about if Sufi had anything done)
Had a little extra time in the morning because I’m going to the Getty’s other location to shoot. So why not puzzle with my coffee.
Holding two cameras in the shop at the Villa. I love the parts of my job where I get to see how cool other people’s jobs are.
Day to dusk. Does it seem that all we do is stare out the window? Yeah…
Tristan came over so we could do our research before RENT live aka watching the movie version of Rent. And so we could eat. I tried making some mochi but it was a little too old I think haha, we still ate it.
Tristan making spaghetti, what a pro
YUMM-O. Spaghetti with a side of watching Rent for the first time.
Sufi sending me the message that I probably should unpack my shit and put it away finally.
We heard this gallery was reinstalled so we took a walk over there to see what was up.
So many massive candle holders
Friday, off work and with bangs that I trimmed too short while they were wet
From jammies to normal clothes. I’m off to the dermatologist
Went to my *real* dermatologist appointment and then swooped up my parents to go out to lunch.
Sometimes you just need a ridiculous roll (or two)
Came home to gather the pups for an outing
I AM so happy that this whole dustbowl (yes, what I normally call this is the dust bowl because it is dry and full of dust) is actually green from all the rain we’ve been getting.
Pure joy being off leash in an open field
Went to Three Weavers for a beer and played another round of Patchwork
Saturday morning, toast in the sun
Chore day. I actually organized all my scarves and cabinet.
Bringing my race for later in the day
Went to Andrea’s for some dinner and wine
And to try to kidnap Kevin who I love so much
Good morning! Had my toast and reviewed the Simply Bento book my mom gave me for Christmas
Sunday morning orchid monitoring
Now that my scarves are organized I can pull any of them out at the drop of a hat (yes, these are all mom originals)
Tristan and I went to Loews to buy some plants for the office
Bought this money tree, not quite sure what we were getting ourselves into
Everything made it safely home
Picked up things at CVS, then picked up our pizzas and headed home to watch Rent Live, which turned out to be a mild bust since one of the main guys broke his leg and they couldn’t actually do it live for the most part?
Anywho.
Thanks for reading!

Some questions that you may or may not feel inclined to answer? So! Let’s do it. I invite you to answer in the comments:
- What do you like on your pizza?
- Are you into plants? What are some great indoor plants that are non-toxic for doggos? What is your favorite indoor plant?
- What is something you are looking forward to this weekend or week?
__
- What do you like on your pizza?
If it’s like, a classic quick pizza joint (not fancy ‘real’ pizza) then I just want pepperoni. And more pepperoni. But at a nicer place, I like garlic, basil, any and all cheese, some kind of spicy sausage maybe? I’m open. - Are you into plants? What are some great indoor plants that are non-toxic for doggos? What is your favorite indoor plant?
Trying to hone my genetics (my grandpa was a great gardener and worked at a plant nursery as long as I can remember) and be a good plant owner. But in reality, it is mostly Zach taking care of everything. This doesn’t answer the question, but I am just explaining a little bit more about why I want some plant recs. - What is something you are looking forward to this weekend or week?
It’s a rainy weekend in Los Angeles, and I’m excited to read more, feel cozy, and hopefully eat something good. Simple things.

Much love friends!
What do you like on your pizza? i like combo pizzas – red onions, sausage, mushroom kitchen sink stuff, but if at a cheap joint yes cheese or pepperoni
Are you into plants? What are some great indoor plants that are non-toxic for doggos? What is your favorite indoor plant?- hmm, i have trouble keeping them alive but have lots of little cactus they grow well in az and used to have a money tree and they were actually easy to keep but also felt like more work than cactus
What is something you are looking forward to this weekend or week? i’m looking fwd to cooler weather here too its supposed to rain, and also tacos will probably have this weekend.
wondering what kind of camera do you recommned for someone who is starting out, need to stop taking iphone pics, the dslr are so pricey, but also i heard fuji film is good?

If you are interested in a new camera, I’d recommend looking into mirrorless options! Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus…a lot of the big brands have mirrorless lines that tend to be less expensive (in the $500 to $1000) range, and some have features like detachable/interchangeable lenses. Not every mirrorless camera has every feature, so I’d read about a few different options and see what is most important to you!

1. What do you like on your pizza?
Everything! Blue cheese and mushroom is a good combo, love sausage and meatballs, anchovy is one of my faves, and love plenty of peppers, olives, onions, jalapeños etc (not usually all of this at the same time!).
2. Are you into plants? What are some great indoor plants that are non-toxic for doggos? What is your favorite indoor plant?
Yes very much but not so much houseplants. Inside we have a big cheese plant, some grasses, some succulents and an aloe Vera. Can’t advise on dog friendliness I’m afraid but love my tentically cheese plant. Outside is where we really focus, we have a big garden with a greenhouse and raised allotment area, so we grow loads of veggies and flowers. My favourite plant we’ve got is a large cherry tree that actually fruits (very sour though).
3. What is something you are looking forward to this weekend or week?
Getting better! I’m on my third bout of tonsillitis since October and have the docs today.

I’ve seen the “cheese” plants before but had no idea that is what their name was! Hahah, I love that. That’s amazing you’ve got a greenhouse! I’m hoping my little plants survive in their raised tubs till summer…
(Feel better! Tonsillitis sounds like the worst…)
