MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JANUARY 28–FEBRUARY 3, 2019!
A rainy week in Los Angeles. Marie and I get lost in Eataly, take my parents to the car museum, plant a new mini veggie garden on wheels, and celebrate Dan’s piano skills and the Superbowl on the same night.
Enjoy!
Brought in the little plant I got yesterday with Tristan. We are gifting it to our boss now that we all have windows to grow happy plants.
Tuesday, brought in the baby cactus that Tristan got for me.
Gorgeous sunset on the way out
Packed up my bento: chicken and veggie soup, arugula, and some leftover eggplant.
Another chilly day in Los Angeles
A brief stop home before Marie swooped me up
Took Marie to the Eataly at the mall while we waited for our table at Din Tai Fung. She had never been and was truly delighted at every turn.
Beef noodle soup and pork soup dumplings! YES.
Wow feeling these sunset vibes
Tried these fresh noodles with pesto that I got from Eataly when I was with Marie. This pesto turned out pretty good, I added a lot of butter and garlic.
Had a work night in. I edited some photos and we caught up on Ru Paul’s All Stars 4.
Friday we had a team meeting that ended with a couple hours at the pool hall. Nice to team bond and prove how bad I am at billiards.
On Saturday, I took my parents to the Petersen Automotive Museum.
My parents looking very respectful toward the picture vehicles
I liked the exhibit about Southern California race tracks and race cars. My mom claims she never went to any of the race tracks in Pasadena growing up…sure sure mom.
An early electric vehicle! Yes, they were around but they were more expensive at the time so people chose the Fords.
Went out for lunch at BCD Tofu House for some spicy soon tofu and bbq.
I mentioned to my mom I wanted to grow some shishito peppers, so we took a family trip to Loews to get a little veggie garden going.
Brought home some extra babies too. I got a cherry tomato plant, a Japanese eggplant, three shishito peppers, and a jalapeno.
Got these planter boxes too, they come with built in drainage, and they are on wheels so I can move them around.
We also repotted the money tree into a bigger pot.
A rainy Saturday afternoon, felt appropriate to have some tea.
More editing and finishing up the first season of Sex Education on Netflix.
A sad dinner, but it was just a work night in. Quiet and full of avocado.
Morning! Sunday and we decided to take advantage of the rainy day and try to check out the Lunar New Year stuff at Disneyland.
Shoutout to Zach for the raincoat
Cute ass Mickey and Minnie birthday celebration decorations
Oh yeah, Valentine’s Day is around the corner. There were a few hints here and there at the park.
I know this looks funky, but it caught my attention and I wanted to try it. It is a caramel apple churro—the green stuff is sour and you dip it into the caramel. I weirdly loved it. It reminded me exactly of the caramel apple lollipops? Those were the shit.
Started pouring rain as we were eating our churro.
Decided to split a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup mmm.
Thought it would be less crowded due to the rain, but it was still pretty busy.
Headed over to California Adventure
I think you can meet Mulan and Mushu here too, but they weren’t around when we passed by.
Cute ass macaron and little dumpling pouch with beef
Incredicoaster in the rain, a risk? Maybe.
Picked up Kiki and Ders and went to see Dan’s recital for his phd program at USC. ~whoa TALENT~ So fun to see him play.
After the recital we went back to my place to watch the Superbowl. It was basically already over by the time we got home, but we recorded it and all agreed not to look at our phones just in case of spoilers.
Kiki brought lumpia, which we re-heated. Zach made queso, and we collaborated on some guacamole haha.
Tristan and I mostly played with Peanut
Somebody got a walk in the rain

- Are you a sports fan? Who is your team?
If based on my childhood, I’d say Lakers (we were a Lakers household when they were peak winning championships and stuff) but now? I don’t really have a team. Just enjoy going to games and shouting. - Did you celebrate Lunar New Year? Any highlights?
Japanese New Year is on the 1st of the year, so sadly no Lunar New Year with the family. But admiring celebrations from afar… - Most recent video you watched online?
Just watched the most recent of the “Pastry Chef Makes” series from Bon Appetit. Claire tries to make Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Much love friends!
Long time lurker here 🙂
The accupuncture was for you skin, wasn’t it? Do you feel like it’s helping? I’ve got this eczema around my eyes and it’s starting to really annoy me, so I’m thinking about different approaches to get rid of it…
To answer your questions in return:
1. Are you a sports fan? Who is your team?
Not really, apart from the regular world cup stuff happening. Mostly I’m rooting for my hometowns soccer team, just because it’s my hometown
2. Did you celebrate Lunar New Year? Any highlights?
Nope. 🙂
3. Most recent video you watched online?

Helllllo! Aw I love when lurkers come to the comment section. Welcome 🙂
I’m so sorry to hear you’re dealing with eczema, it SUCKS. And sometimes can feel like nothing will help it. I went to acupuncture for skin issues, and I related that mixed with being more careful with potential allergy-threats plus taking daily anti-histamines and making sure the rest of my body was moisturized too all contributed to helping my skin calm down. I think acupuncture is helpful to center, de-stress, and focus on your body in a controlled, calm environment. Give it a try and see if you like it! I hope your skin calms down soon…
