This is Friday, December 9, 2016! PART 2
This is a two part post of one documented day. START HERE if you haven’t read the first! In this half, we wrap up our time in California Adventure and head over to Disneyland to enjoy a few rides before catching holiday fireworks!
Enjoy!
After we got off Goofy’s Flight School, we walked back toward the roller coaster, ready to get on…
We passed the Boardwalk games and I remember reading that the cheapest way to get a plushie at Disneyland was to win one of these games. It’s about $5 to play, and pretty low stakes.
Basically you had to roll a ball into a few holes up a ramp (similar to skee ball, but much smaller) and whichever hole you got determined how many spaces your horse moved. Zach was determined to win…I thought I was doing badly…I could hear other people’s balls going in and I was just focused on getting the second tier…suddenly it was over…
AND I HAD WON!!!!!! I know it’s stupid…but I haven’t won anything in so long. In fact, Zach and I are notoriously bad at carnival games. This felt like a big win ahah
Finally after 5pm, time to use those Fast Passes
Bullseye definitely enjoyed the coaster
We were getting hungry, so I stood in line for some warm clam chowder
We shared the bread bowl (which is pretty dense)
So warm and delicious, especially since it was getting pretty chilly after the sun set
We said goodnight to California Adventure, and decided to head over to Disneyland
We walked in as a parade was about to start, so it was a little fish swimming up stream situation until we got past the Castle
But it was still festive and warm and happy, so it wasn’t bad to walk in a crowd when you got to look up and see lights
Also a ride that reminds me of coming to Disneyland with my dad and riding this with him
We pop into the gift shop, Zach is still checking every store to see if he can find the Tower of Terror pin by chance
Zach also wanted to get a gift for his work’s gift swap. He was looking for a remote control BB8.
But they were too expensive so we got out of there.
Passed the beautiful wintery castle
I’ve never noticed this yeti footprint before
In line for Matterhorn. After it was updated a little bit it’s become one of my favorite rides.
More blurry movement shots haha
The lights on It’s a Small World are perhaps the most magical of all
We cut through Fantasyland to get over to Frontierland
Caught Zach in another pin shop looking for his desired pin…no luck.
Got fast passes for Indiana Jones
Then got in line at Pirates of the Caribbean
While we were in line some magical snow/lights thing happened near the lake
A view from Pirates looking over to New Orleans Square
Bullseye on Pirates of the Caribbean
After the ride we really wanted some coffee. I was determined to see the wintery/holiday fireworks show.
From there we found a space to wait to see the Castle fireworks show
To avoid the mass exodus of visitors after the show, we headed toward Indiana Jones
We got lucky and it wasn’t our time for the fast pass yet, but the ride had just re-opened so we walked right on
SO FUN. We ended up giving up our fast passes to some people entering the line.
We decided to head out. And it happened that a parade was happening again haha
Back peeping over the construction zone
Got back to the car around 11pm
Popped on a podcast I’m obsessed with at the moment
Back to Los Angeles 40 minutes later…
Apartment is still a bit of a mess, but the boyos are still happy to see us
I fell asleep in the car…*grumpy waldo*
They didn’t blow it! (How much do you love seeing dog pee….hahah I’m keeping it real)
Set up coffee for the next morning
Turned on the heater, threw on the jammies
Little did I know, but Zach secretly bought another ewok plushie haha he said he wanted to compare if it looked more like Tweedy than the other one
Much love friends!
