This is Friday, December 9, 2016! PART 1
A morning waiting around for a fridge before Zach and I head to escape adulting and enjoy Disneyland as an early celebration for Zach’s birthday.
This is part 1 of the day. Part 2 is here.
Good morning! These chumps are already wide awake.
I don’t want to get up just yet…it’s cold out there.
I got bed-side coffee delivered.
This is Sufi’s entire world summed up in one photo…being ignored while somebody dotes on Tweedy
I have a bit of work to do, and we’re just waiting for a fridge do be delivered so why not chill in bed.
Starting a freelance gig (yeah, that’s right guys…hire me…I can make a circle) to America’s Next Top Model cycle 4
I hear Zach moving things around
Zach cleared a path for the fridge to make it to its designated spot
Stopping to admire my tiny tree. I love this astronaut that I think looks like me in a space suit cuz I’m self-centered I guess
So excited to ditch this little guy.
Zach is geared up to head on his run (he’s training for the Disney half marathon)
What’s in today’s advent calendar?
I got a wire puzzle…*oooh* mysterious
I love looking at the pad after I wipe my face
Alright, half ready. Didn’t manage to get out of my pajamas
And now it’s my task to clean the area that was under the old broken fridge, and prepare it for the new fridge
Smelled too much like chemicals and cleaner so why not burn some candles
There’s even stuff in the hall, I’m just trying to get to my memory card in the workroom
I’ve got a lot of good screenshots. Sometimes I think about just publishing a zine with a bunch of screenshots…this Michelle with skin infection is going to be first page for sure.
Sufi looks over my shoulders as I start watching through footage of Marie’s crowdfunding video
Is sending Marie cute screenshots of herself mean? She hates me.
He’s back and showered. The fridge guys call!
Makeup, check. Teeth brushed, check. Clothing, check.
Zach continues to talk on the phone
I work on my Star Wars puzzle for a bit
Creeping on the delivery truck. So happy! 2 weeks without a fridge has been a bit of an inconvenience. Imagine all those centuries without it before. And people in the world without one now!
It’s here! And it’s…silver!
Zach starts putting things back where they belong
I work on cutting off this blue sticky protective stuff
Get all the drawers and shelves in
And put all the treasures back on
Excited! Haven’t had a “full” day (even though by the time we head out it’s early afternoon) in a while.
We arrive to the Mickey and Friends parking structure and go all the way to the top.
You can peek into the construction of Star Wars Land from up here
We are technically here to celebrate Zach’s birthday a bit early, and I know more than anything he wants to find a Tower of Terror pin since today is the last time we’ll get to ride it before it’s closed. No luck at this kiosk.
We walk through Downtown Disney toward the Disneyland Hotel
Zach’s craving a fancy kick off to the Disney day so we stop by Trader Sam’s
I love the illustrations. We each ordered from the seasonal menu and then picked a plate of wings to share.
So good! They are reminiscent of Korean spicy wings.
Mine was called the “Snow Globe”, so cute! It was like a pina colada but without the pineapple…if you can picture that.
Through the sneaky California Grand Hotel entrance
Passing through the beautiful lobby
Past this giant intricate gingerbread house (yes, it smelled like gingerbread!)
And into California Adventure!
Witnessed a Pluto high five pretty much almost immediately
Headed toward Tower of Terror.
Aw, it’s already got scaffolding up.
We hopped in line, and I snapped as many photos of the details. I remember when this ride opened and now it’s going to become Guardians of the Galaxy themed.
Zach watching the video for the last time…(we were in there with 3 other people, strange but intimate circumstance for the last viewing)
Ready to ride for the last time!
Bug’s Land is a little boring for adult humans but the details aren’t lost on me. So many fun little things to look at.
How can it be so? Winter days are so short.
Sup, Mater. I’ve still never seen Cars…
Stopped at Flo’s Cafe to grab some beers to walk around with
From this view you can cut around and be on the wharf
We wanted to ride the roller coaster but wanted to check out the times
It was a bit long of a wait, so we got a fast pass to come back in an hour or so
Cut through a festive looking area near the Mexican restaurant and saw Mickey and Minnie attempting to pose with plushie versions of themselves on their own heads while a girl took a photo ahah
Goofy’s Sky School is a secret favorite of mine. I remember riding this with my dad when it was Mulholland Drive themed…
It was getting dark when we were on the ride. The ride is notoriously painful, it’s mostly really sharp twists and turns.
Blurry photos during all the twisting and turning…
There’s so many photos in this day, I had to divide it into two posts, sorry gang.
CLICK HERE to read the second half of the day…
Much love friends.
