MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: AUGUST 8-14, 2016!
Leaving San Francisco, a week of prepping props and costumes for Marie’s short, and a weekend on set…dealing with zombies, intestines, and fake blood.
Good morning, San Francisco. We’re up and ready to go by 5:30 am.
Crossing the bridge to Oakland in a drowsy haze
Made it to LA
Rushin’ into work
Made it! And today’s Getty Underground, every 2 years there’s a big employee art showcase. There’s also music, dancing, poetry, video, sculpture…
Underground also has an opening party with food and a DJ and performances from fellow staff.
There’s also a baking showcase
And this goob!
Made more of that poached ginger chicken soup
My bowl stackin’ gorl
Marie might need a make-shift helmet for one scene, and described a colander used as a helmet for disguise…did our best ahahah
This definitely would get you killed
Zach not amused by our fern hat
Brought my Pixar cup back to the office
The Getty is poppin’ off with Pokemon
Had a pretty late work night, leaving after 8pm.
The next morning I prep a crock pot chicken noodle soup! Missed using my pot.
Feeling like a patriotic lil’ American boy
A co-worker made this puppet
Watch out Tristan!
Gabby moved! I go to check out her new pad, and it’s so so so adorable.
He’s such a hyper goober
Stay here, Russie! Be good.
Fancy celebratory dinner at the Rose Cafe.
Brussel sprouts and fresh bread…so good
We go for a brief hunt
UH OH. Who has been licking his own butt?!
Two sleepy puppies
Next day, I run to Goodwill, last minute shopping for more zombie costumes
Went through a car wash cuz I’M A FUNCTIONING ADULT
Google videos on how to make intestines. Sending Marie samples. “Which intestines do you like better?”
Working through a check list of props for the short
Make shift dinner from the pantry, a frozen chicken breast, a packet of sesame sauce and some ramen noodles
Who agrees that Zach is a Psyduck
Prop shopping, and I find the perfect ham for the zombies to bite into as human flesh. Guys. Don’t google “how to make fake human flesh for eating.”
Cart full of props
The last one! I pick it up for myself
Fabric paint on my hands…
Props props props
Garage is now full of stuff. Wondering if I’ll be able to fit it all in my car…
One prop was a can of nearly empty shaving cream. Had to go to waste. 😦
The next morning, a stop at Fedex to get packing peanuts
Packing up stuffed animals
Tristan comes over to drop off more stuffed animals and to help me dirty up a costume
Break for ramen
Car full to the brim. On my way to set…
Empty bedroom, need to dress it first things first.
Marie doing her directing thing.
Comparing this ham to her head
Alright, finished dressing the bedroom as a messy girl room.

Making intestines at 1 am haahaa what is life
Candles light, ambiance
Marie looking concerned. I leave set around 3:00 AM, I have to be back the next day by 3 PM.
Good morning, set! After sleeping in and running around for a few last minute props. Then started mixing up my yummy edible barbecue sauce blood.
Marie so happy to see all her zombies in makeup
My intestines don’t look half bad!
Gabby helping with makeup
Okay, it’s one thing if it looks good in this bowl, got to make it work with the zombies.
Casually holding blood
Marie promised me no close ups. And this will be from the side…hope it looks good
I’ve got Sizzle with me
All the stuffed animals doing their thing
So. Tired. Left set that night at 5am, feeling like a zombie myself today.
3rd day on set, just a few hours. Only had to dress a bathroom.
Celebratory dinner at Pine and Crane. Mmmmmm.
Love you Marie.
Much love friends.
