My Week In Photos: April 21 – April 27
My friends were excessively awesome this week. But it was also my birthday, complete with a Totoro brownie cake, a surprise party, a star fruit and many many many adorable babies.
Been bringing my wasabi sembei to work
Shooting in the gardens Monday afternoon!
Oh hey new driver’s license came in! Is it possible to look younger than my 17 year old picture…ugh.
Tweedy still being cute with his haircut
Tofu, green onions and soy sauce.
Tuesday morning and I’m heading downtown (for work!)
I’m here at Union Station in downtown to shoot some details of the site.
The completed post can be found here! (And on the Getty Iris)
Want this tiling in my bathroom…
Heading back to the Westside through Crenshaw.
Decided to take my lunch hour with my folks off site.
Teriyaki burgers and fries at a diner in Crenshaw.
Notes between ladies in the bathroom
Process painting made by a car hitting a cement pole in the parking lot
My first Taco Tuesday with Kiki and Gabby! Margaritas and tacos, all for half off!
My hair doin’ whatever it wants
Ever since the beach I’ve been slowly peeling. It started on my chest, then my arms…and then my legs. Gahhhh.
I’m taking an online course on HTML/CSS just so I can build my skill set and learn something new. It’s…been a challenge to keep up with coursework online.
Takin’ pups to the cement “park”/”river” for them to romp!
And with a friend went to get some icecream at a Persian shop in Westwood.
I got white rose and saffron with pistachio. *DROOL*
*SIGH* Cleaning up my desk because I’m moving offices. I’ve sat at this workstation since I was an intern. It’s a bit sad to leave!
My kind co-worker surprised me with a lovely plate of treats!
Worked on the map for the Union Station piece
Birthday meal #1 – kind friends, thank you!
My new little cubicle. Yeah. A cubicle, like Office Space! But I shall overcome! Will get a rug and some lantern lights. I’ll be very productive down there.
Gabby and Kiki come over because I owe them foods
Sauteed onions, garlic and mushrooms with spiced chicken.
And of course more of Marie’s recipe, garlic and butter with avocado on toast
Blinkin’ boob grab? Invisible lion?
We went out to a place that is half beer store, half bar. You can shop the grocery store side, choose your beer, and have the bar open it on the other side.
Stopped at a dance-y bar across the street afterwards. Much silly dancing ensued.
Mushroom, onion and eggs! (And squirrel mug)
Working on more HTML/CSS homework and Sufi acts like a cat.
Never noticed this mural before
Was gifted these nifty passes for Paris Photo at the Paramount Studio.
Took Marie with me. It’s a photography and book fair!
A lot of it took place on the New York City back lots (sets for filming) and it was weird to see palm trees and intense LA sky above a NY scene.
I really wanted to go thrifting afterwards, I haven’t purchased new clothing in a while.
I found the EXACT SAME shoes I was wearing but in a different pattern.
Yeah, I tried on all of that! *Whew*
Went to the Santouka Ramen at the Mitsuwa near me
SPICY MISO ramen mmmm
On the morning of my actual birthday my parents got pictures to the Japanese breakfast fundraiser at the Pasadena Japanese Cultural Center
A mix of Japanese and American breakfast
Teaching the little ones how to fold a crane
Back at home Tubby gives me an appropriately wrapped Spongebob present!
And mom shows me the gems from the family photos she’s been sorting
Was walking the dogs again to the concrete “river” for them to run (I’m addicted!) and ran into this chicken
At the park I live near, my friends gathered together for a BBQ as a surprise. What a lovely b-day treat! So kind of them! I felt so happy and lucky.
Sriracha is present, so it’s all okay
Marija had a star fruit. Everybody had to try it and take a bite.
General consensus was “it’s an apple but in a cooler shape”
Still taking some photos using the analog
Tried to be a little fashun. Failed. The shoes broke.
But the shoes didn’t stop my sushi cravings.
And that was it! I had a lovely b-day. Thank you for your wishes.
Much love friends.
