My Week in Photos: April 6 – April 13
Many jobs, many dogs, many projects. Dead weight Sarah on a mini-set, and of course soup dumplings.
Also…a broken hard drive. *Tears* I can’t think about that. *GUHUHU* Uhfsa. Pffft. Enjoy.
Monday was Getty College Night. I popped by to take a few photos and help with some props for a photo booth.
Queen Victoria approves of these outfits.
So many students around! And such delicious smelling food…unfortunately not for me.
YAY! Officially moved up to the next dorky art history themed group at the gym. Cubists!
Cubist in the parking lot, heyo!
Had to make a stop at Target to buy some more shampoo for my gym bag.
I surprisingly got in and out without buying anything too ridiculous!
Preparing delicate dinner…
I decided to plant my souvenir that I got in Arizona the weekend before. Pretty cute!
My friend who writes and runs a blog was doing a piece on eyebrows. Thought I’d doodle a bit and see if I could add any illustrations to her piece. These are just practice.
[Okay – totally just realized there is a weird watermark on these iPhone pix. Coming from Picasa. Going to re-upload and continue where I left off…ahhhhhhh]
*Grump* So off my game this week
Stopping by a Marukai to compare the selection to the Nijiya.
Going through images from our roadtrip and noticed this one. Doesn’t it look like I’m a little sperm…in a huge rock penis? Gross? Apologies.
Marukai sold this katsu for less than $3, not bad.
Good morning! Market run of course means I came away with some spam.
Spam and eggs to get that Wednesday goin’ right.
I noticed a little bit of a hot spot developing on Tweedy’s shoulder. So I put on the inflatable cone of shame…STOP LICKING!
I wish I had the courage to show you this finished poppin cookin but it’s so shameful.
Three rolls of film to drop off to be processed.
I bring the pups with me to take them out for a treat.
Dog park!!!!!!!!! Sufi already made a friend. Usually he hangs around the corners.
I haven’t been in the middle of the day during the week before. It was pretty empty.
Touching and taking photos of other people’s cute dogs – the real reason I go to the dog park.
Made a thank you card. It’s supposed to be a glass of bourbon.
Wasn’t perfectly happy with my bourbon…tried a few other options.
The pups are truly exhausted after the park
*SIGH* DMV time.
Took an hour and a half even though I had an appointment. Many miscommunications. Oh well. I have successfully renewed my license.
Found some corn nuts like the ones my mom gets from the farmer’s website from Sprouts!
And went home to work on a few eyebrow watercolor ideas.
Cuddle hour
Dinner…spam salad? Hey I’ll make it work.
Gabby and I make the panda dango with much success. Buuuut wow it’s so awful tasting.
It’s like leaving children outside to run into the liquor store. SORRY PUPS.
At work in the galleries taking some photos.
And of course shout out to my sister, Yoko, on National Siblings day.
Not sure if you can read the sign – but it’s a preschool ad but the picture looks like a girl shoving a huge baguette into her ear…
With my co-worker in a fancy hotel elevator. All glass WITH a chandelier.
This is a little welcome/kick-off event for a social media project with another brand. It was awesome to meet other creative folks and eat these tiny lamb lollipops.
And we saw Morgan Freeman there!!! No pix sorry. But here’s a wall of roses!
Afterwards I joined Marie in Beverly Hills to help her with a photo job.
Taking some photos in this adorable nail salon. I was so fascinated with the process of getting nails done. I’ve never done it and had lots of annoying questions. GEL is thing?!?!
So got home from helping Marie around midnight and found out that the pups had somehow managed to push my hard drive to the ground. The hard drive wouldn’t connect and wouldn’t turn on…I basically immediately broke down in the most uncontrollable sobbing. My body FREAKED OUT. Woke up with very swollen eyes and a very nervous spirit.
Sorry if some updates are late guys, still figuring out an affordable open for data recovery. 😦 😦 😦
Took a new way home and found this bridge with these amazing vines
After work on Friday I caught the metro towards downtown.
I end up in the jewelry district
It’s fun to be in some hustle and bustle
And eventually end up in Pasadena
I’m here to see a new photography portrait show! Norton Simon.
Wandering around old town nearby
Was looking for a new spatula…and came across the ONLY SPATULA that SHOULD exist.
Of course wandering into the Lush…smelling it all.
It was crayons AND yogurt soju. So far so good.
Crab and shrimp on toast…it’s like ceviche on bread. SO GOOOOOD. I’d come back just for that.
Weekend started off with a little photo job at a gallery in Santa Monica
Soup dumplings and garlic crab fried rice. HEY YO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The line at Blockheads is poppin
Kiki is SERIOUS for blockheads
I change into my I’m-pretending-to-help-but-really-I’m-here-to-relax outfit for Zach’s first day of set
King Sufi on all of the equipment
Zach and his friend who recently moved here have been writing a comedy thing and here we are filmin’ it. “We” = I’m here to enjoy the beach.
Lovely dusk
First night done – black and white breakfast for dinner
Bounce!
*Selfie* on set
Second location is behind Sony Studios
And as they film, I escape to start season 3 of Game of Thrones (yeah I’m behind…NOT SPOILERS!)
Whew.
Much love friends!
