MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: AUGUST 5–11, 2019!
I pass on my meager spam musubi knowledge to Tristan before Zach and I head up to San Francisco for Outsidelands Music Festival with Lauren.
Enjoy!

My mugs with the handles survived the bisque fire with handles still attached. I really like how they look all white so I was really tormenting myself thinking about what glazing to do.

Decided to try a different kind of paint on glaze. What do you think?

Kiki observes a spam musubi training session with Tristan

Good job, Tristy! He’s graduated the Waldo Spam Musubi School.

He got a haircut! Looking like a sad baby sausage.

Heading to San Francisco for Outsidelands, annual tradition to spend the weekend with Lauren

Friday morning in the neighborhood, heading to get some coffee

The journey to and from Cinderella’s to get my favorite green onion piroshki

Lauren offered some kit kats from Japan but I couldn’t bring myself to disturb the cute package

Made it into the festival for day 1, found Mandy and took our time picking some food options.

First round of snacks to share together

Watched Cautious Clay before moving over to another stage

Then watched the Melissa King and Alyssa Edwards cooking demonstration slash dance lesson

Having a true blast at Blink 182

Watched the end of Counting Crows before catching the beginning of the Lumineers

Saturday morning, walking through the park to head to Tartine in the Inner Sunset

Waiting for friends, eatin’ a scone

Caught up with Rachel and Stu and Theo

Day 2! Who would you be sure to see?

Ed Hardy tattoo exhibition at the DeYoung pop up at the festival.

Waiting for the Bon Appetit afternoon at the culinary stage

Wine mini golf before Mike Birbiglia, Aparna Nancherla, and Rhea Butcher

We got this $1 blanket and used the heck out of it.

It got sooooo foggy so quickly. Went to see Ella Mai.

Watched Childish Gambino from behind Pikachu

In the morning on the way to breakfast slash lunch, we passed a street fair and I nearly adopted a dog.

And these glorious chicken wings

Made it see Mavis Staples, and Kacey Musgraves

Got my Mandy Ink hat courtesy of Mandy

More hours passed, we stayed planted to see Leon Bridges

Another great year at Outsidelands. It’s been a fun tradition in August to see Lauren and hear new music (because I am truly the worst at keeping up).
Thanks for reading!
I am truly behind on these updates, but determined to chug along and get them updated as we I can. I am about to head to Japan, if you want to follow in real time I’ll most likely post on my Instagram @sleepywaldo.

A question that you may or may not feel inclined to answer? So! Let’s do it. I invite you to answer in the comments:
Seen any music live this year? Who did you see? What was the highlight?

Why would they overlap Childish Gambino and Hozier though?! I love your festival photos, such a treat every year, and the food looks incredible. Maybe there’s a music festival here in Macedonia that I can check out!
