MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: DECEMBER 3–9, 2018!
A rainy week in Los Angeles, seeing the Favourite with Kiki, shaking jelly beans with friends at home, packing our office, and spending the weekend in the snow in Big Bear Lake, California.
Enjoy!
Third day of advent calendar, I got this beautiful chihuahua
Tried to do too much at pottery studio and didn’t get a chance to finish everything I was hoping to.
Tweedy sleeps the best like that
Monumentality exhibition opens at the GRI, including this Theaster Gates piece in the lobby.
We’re being blessed by some great winter sunsets
Kiki and I went to see The Favourite (which I really really enjoyed, did you see it?)
Got a last minute dentist appointment at 7 AM. Love to torture myself.
Everybody drives badly in the rain, but I still appreciate it nevertheless.
A gathering to try out the new Mario Party
Got lazy and didn’t make it to the grocery store to cook my own wings, so we ordered.
Tristan and I spent a while cleaning and packing our desks and office space. We are moving up to the daylight in January.
Packed up the important sloths
Casual measuring tape inching toward my face
Beautiful sky on my way out of the office.
Zach picked me up from work and we drove the three hours out to Big Bear. Early celebration for his birthday.
We went to Captain’s Anchorage for a late dinner.
We shared a prime rib, preeetty tasty.
Found our accommodation through the fog
This cabin was way bigger than I thought, I truly thought what I booked online was one room, but it had a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom! So cute.
We stayed in the John Muir cabin. My mind was blown that Zach didn’t know who John Muir was…maybe he’s only a local California hero we learn about in school? Without googling, tell me who he is and where you are from. I’m so curious. But anyways, the best part about this cabin was the painted walls, I loved the pinecones…but wasn’t sure what the poop smear beneath was supposed to be.
Little snowman survived the night
We were without coffee but thankful for the McDonalds on the corner.
Wow is there a better view from a McDonalds out there? (I mean, probably sure but this one is pretty good)
Who made the first of these bears. Who makes them now.
Doing some liiiight computer work while we finish coffee.
I brought Zach here because he does really love skiing and winter things, I’m a real novice but I conquered my fears and rented skis anyways.
I stayed all day on the bunny slopes
From the slopes, down into town.
I wish I had a melodious voice
So many goodies at the Village shops
Loved this dog, but he didn’t want to meet me cuz he was too anxious. Rejected.
Ribs at Black Diamond Tavern
The restaurant was so friggin’ cold, I was wearing my coat the whole dinner. Also the fireplace was filled with fake candles instead of a fire…that fire could have helped potentially.
Zach loves anything with rainbow sprinkles
Where did this horse come from
Saw on the map that the lake was pretty close to where we stayed, so we walked over to check it out. Passed SO MANY incredible snow people.
SO. The drought in California is still going on, so I guess should have been no surprise that the lake would be much smaller than it should be. Sad to see so many houses that were once probably lake front that are now like…grass front.
Decided to go tubing at a tubing park
Best logo I’ve ever seen in the world
Decided to check out a Himalayan Restaurant. The chicken was soooo good, mm.
Afternoon neon bowling at the Bowling Barn? Yes.
Whitney encouraged me and I got the win!
Second game? I won by a poooint.
Pretty much wearing pajamas around
We decided to head home while it was still daylight. We passed by this view of the lake and had to hop out of the car.
Another three hours and we were back in Los Angeles.
Two days worth of Advent Calendar stuff to look forward to!
And I’ll leave it here! Hope you’re having a great week.

Thanks for reading! Much love friends.
John Muir is a big deal in the Unitarian Universalist church; he’s a founder of the Sierra Club too!
What is a National Park or State Park that you think everybody should visit?
– All of them before they’re destroyed by fracking!
Mountains or beach?
– Both, but beach, mostly.
What does your name mean?
– Apparently I’m a goddess of a river in Ireland.

I’m always impressed with how much you pack into a week. It makes me feel tired just reading! Also I actually vaguely know who John Muir is. Impressed with myself.
– What is a National Park or State Park that you think everybody should visit?
The Cevennes national park in France is amazing. In the UK, its hard to choose but I think I’d go for Snowdonia. Never been to any in America but I hope to change that.
– Mountains or beach?
Both, can I have both? Impossible to choose.
– What does your name mean?
It means ‘blossoming’ or ‘to flower’ apparently!
