MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JUNE 25–JULY 1, 2018! (BEACH BONFIRE, MUPPETS AT THE SKIRBALL, QUEEN AMIDALA)
Feels like the start of summer finally: an afternoon at our friend’s brewery, Korean food on a Saturday afternoon, dog-sitting Peanut, seeing the Jim Henson exhibition in Los Angeles, and a beach bonfire complete with illegal fireworks.
Enjoy!
So grateful to have the work gym back open after months closed. Ready to start the week.
Walking in the gardens Monday morning
Tuesday morning featuring Sufi’s weird leg
SO happy to receive this! A few years back, a friend illustrated this adorable sad Queen Amidala who I’ve loved since Phantom Menace came out (I was young…for some reason she stuck with me as a character I liked) and recently she had the illustration made into a pillow and now it’s all mine! So happy.
Zach’s soup that I took as leftovers, noodles separate to keep them fresh.
Walking the doggos before heading out to go downtown
Here at Sake Dojo again to see Jill and try a few more menu options.
Shooting some photos for them of the new bento boxes
Thursday morning—loving all the June gloom.
Retirement party for our head of communications—we took this photo a few months back (we are all in scarves and sweaters) with a drone and hey, looks pretty good.
Out with Tristan to watch the finale of season 10 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race live. (Did you watch? I was team Asia, but I’m okay with how it all went down. Rip those butterflies).
ANOTHER LARGE LEMON I can’t get enough.
Zach prepped a bunch of growlers for later in the day.
Sufi getting a bath is another story. He’s so stressed and delicate and you have to gently brush him and he looks SO SAD you are doing this to him.
Scooped up Tristan and took him and Zach to the Hammer Museum.
Tristan is the only person I’ve ever seen actually fall out of the spun chair

I know I was just here last week, but I did really enjoy the show and wanted to bring Zach and see it again.
Went to Kevin’s brewery in South El Monte after the Hammer. We drove an hour and a half in traffic but it was worth it to try the new summer beers and hang with Kevin.
We were there for like 5 hours, and it was the best. So happy for the success of the brewery!
Filled up some growlers that Zach brought with us and went into “Barreltown” to see what the brewery is working on
Saturday morning! Peanut was dropped off to spend the weekend with us.
Hi I only wear wrinkly clothes. DO you approve, Peanut?
amwa meeting to discuss an upcoming film screening
Starved so we had a korean food feast
Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Wallis—the play was 3 and a 1/2 hours. It was a true journey into night. But really good!
In the mornings I always go get my coffee and come back to bed and I always see the dogs waiting for me.
Out here at the Skirball Cultural Center to see the Jim Henson exhibition!
Fairly long line to get tickets
SO HAPPY! Were you a big Muppets fan? This exhibition filled me with delight.
Behind the scenes videos and photos of the making of Jim Henson shows
Made our way to meet James at Dockweiler Beach, one of the last beaches I’m aware of with fire pits. James got here super early to claim a pit and we reaped the benefits.
Dug a hole to chill in because WHY not.
An evening chatting by the fire, cooking pork belly, and watching some illegal fireworks being set off on the beach.

Ready for some invasive, random questions? (Inspired by the nostalgia of Livejournal surveys, I borrowed these questions from belenen on Livejournal from 2014). Answer if you’d like:
- If someone made an action figure based on you, what 3 props would they have?
- Where have you spent most of your life?
- Favorite non-pet animal?
- Zodiac sign? What traits of your sign match with your personality? Which don’t?
- Bonus question: Have you been to Basel, Switzerland? Where should I eat? What should I do!

A camera, a backpack, and a spam musubi. - Where have you spent most of your life?
South Pasadena / Los Angeles / California - Favorite non-pet animal?
Sloth! Or manatee. I remember my 2nd-grade teacher got me into manatees and in middle school I did a report on a three-toed sloth and they’ve both stuck with me ever since. - Zodiac sign? What traits of your sign match with your personality? Which don’t?
Taurus. The positives are: generous, dependable, down to earth, patient, independent, and persistent. The negatives are: stubborn, self-indulgent, lazy, materialistic, possessive, frugal. Hmmm. I agree that I can be really stubborn and sometimes lazy, and I’d like to think I’m dependable. Not sure about the others.
