MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JULY 24–30, 2017!
Zach comes down with a lung infection, I join my cousins for a mid-week Disneyland day and meet Moana, a visit to a Star Wars themed bar (yes, I meet Darth Vader), swimming and visiting a temple of the freemasons. Plus a kitten.
Carpool morning—it’s nice to drive to another part of town and see what morning is like there.
My slime turned into a rose-scented disc over the weekend.
Another week of Getty of Thrones on Getty Insta.
Still working on my bun with the short hair
Another Monday evening class, another tuna sandwich.
Working from home on Tuesday—spent the morning on some quiet puzzle time.
Tweedy watching me as I work. And yes—it’s getting a little messy in there. Need to clean the frick up.
Split some Hawaiian BBQ with Zeen, and then he went to nap and take some medicine.
Came back to find Tweedy again sitting on this chair
Reading over interviews about modern architecture in India, yay for transcription services!
I packed my overnight stuff and headed to South Pas.
Tubby always requires some cuddles when I get there.
Staying at home so I can be a little closer to my cousins. I’m going with them to take the little cousins to Disneyland since some family from out of town is here for the week.
Waiting our turn to meet the Evil Queen from Snow White.
The Queen told them “no smiling aloud!” and asked another guest “What is your favorite thing…about me…” lolol
Despite their faces, Space Mountain was a favorite.
Lunch, a fried chicken sandwich from the Hungry Bear Restaurant over by Splash Mountain. I wouldn’t be lying if I didn’t say I follow Disney food instagram accounts.
So happy to be soaked on Splash Mountain.
Tried the special s’mores churro (a graham cracker coated churro and a marshmallow and chocolate dip)
And meeting Moana! I was probably even more excited than they were.
We met a LOT of characters. It was one of my little cousin’s first times ever to Disneyland, so there was a lot of ground to cover.
I got us some popcorns before the parade
So cute, she kept shouting “RAPUNZEL IS COMING!!!!” or “DONALD DUCK IS COMING!!!!!!!” with every character coming down Main Street.
Mickey is kind of near-sighted
Woke up and Sufi was on my pillow like this. And it’s no wonder the eczema on my cheek won’t go away.
I forgot a sweater—so thankful for this blanket
Gabby came over that evening—we made some gin and tonics.
We watched Degrassi: Next Class and did a puzzle and had gin and tonics truly a perfect evening.
Ordered some Thai food to share (and for Zach when he’s done with his class)—spicy fish, green curry, and stir fried eggplant with tofu. Yumm.
Pile of Thai food. Not complaining.
Dead at the gym the next morning
Leftovers at lunch, a treat to have a hot lunch and not an avocado or a bag of salad.
I wanted to learn the bass part of a Fleetwood Mac song I heard when we went to see them at Dodger Stadium. And Zach has been slowly teaching me what is VERY basic—but I’ve never played a string instrument.
Zach had this Queen Amidala kid’s dress he used for a sketch once, I’m ready for the Star Wars bar.
Zach found this pop up Cantina event that is supposed to be the bar in Star Wars—”Mos Eisley” that is in Episode IV.
Dress up was highly encouraged by the company who put it on (maybe because they weren’t really licensed to put this on? Dunno)
Last moments in the bar before heading back out
Next afternoon—family BBQ and swimming
Then went to meet friends/co-workers at the Marciano Art Foundation
This building was originally a Scottish Rite Masonic Temple designed by Millard Sheets in 1961. It’s a huuuuge building complete with a theater and three floors of exhibition space. You can read more about the building here.
The drinking fountains were part of the original design so are left in their place. More on the transformation of the building.
Some of the things the freemasons left behind in the “Relic Room.”
Easy, breezy, beautiful…Covergirl
We put our names in at Quarters and the wait was an hour and 45 minutes. Craaaay.
Went next door to have a few beers while waiting
Sunday morning—after nearly a week of him sleeping a lot, taking DayQuil, complaining about coughing all night and not being able to sleep…convinced him to go to urgent care and GUESS who has a lung infection!!!!
Dragged his lung infection out to Tristan’s house for his podcast recording.
His mounted and framed holographic pokemon cards
Honored to be a guest at Spirit Party Live! You can listen to their podcast on iTunes and other places too, I think. They talk about beers and pop culture and goofs!
Their season finale was a cheap Andre champagne taste test.
Tried too many champagnes too quickly and had to hug the dog for a while ahaha
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm matzo call soup have been CRAVING this.
I hope Canter’s never goes away.
Completed my 1000 piece puzzle finally!
Honestly had a blast with this one. The fonts, the colors, the subtle texture changes. It was just a fun one. #puzzlenerd
Playing with my dragon, waiting for Game of Thrones to come on.
Much love friends.
What do you do with your finished puzzles? Do you break them up and put them back in the box, or do you frame them?

I break them up and put them back in the box. Not sure what I should do with the puzzles I already completed. Maybe give them to my local library? I’m not sad to break them down, it’s a journey…not the end product…haha.
