MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: MAY 22–28, 2017!
Shooting off-site, a photography show opening, more Korean-inspired cooking, spending an afternoon in City Hall, and celebrating Tristan’s birthday downtown.
Enjoy!
Walked in to get coffee and *tragedy* the coffee machine is broken.
My mom sent me this cute pic of my dad and Uncle Mo visiting the USS Iowa, they went for a veteran’s event
Joined in on the curator’s tour of a new photography exhibition that just opened at the museum.
Chris Killip! Living artist! So exciting for us and such a pleasure to hear him speak about the making of these photographs and the people in In Flagrante.
Snuck into the opening and had a few treats
I rarely wear non-black pants feeling proud
Evening in Culver City to see Alien Covenant.
Had a leisurely morning waiting for the call time for an off-site shoot for work.
Off-site shoot *mystery locale*
Then I stopped back home to just grab lunch since I was close enough. Sandwiches and smoothies.
Had a long night at the office—finally left around 8:30
Drove immediately to meet Zach for late dinner.
He wanted to try this place Hatchet Hall
Octopus…seriously delicious I’d eat this like 20 more times at least.
Had an off Wednesday for the first time in a while!
Started with the Culver City stairs
California poppies in the wild!
Afterwards we went to the Korean market again. I promised Gabby later in the week that we’d make budae jigae and I needed a few things.
I wonder who tried to buy just one perilla leaf
Found this amazing kit of the sausages and goodies I needed for the stew the next night.
My mom makes this a lot so I tried to do it myself with the wrong kind of slicer
I didn’t have a cheese cloth but I did get this giant tea strainer and I figured that is made to withstand boiling water so why not try it for the soup base.
Prepped to make some soy bean paste soup
Finally put to use this cute pot Marie gave me a while back
Yum! I really loved how it turned out. I followed another Maangchi recipe.
Utilized the empty morning studio at work to follow some random YouTube strength exercise routine.
Made some bold clothes choices today
And HOORAY the coffee machine is finally fixed!
Tristan emerged from his underworld portal
And after work Gabby and Kiki came over to enjoy budae jigae in the new hot pot cooker thinggie I got.
Gabby was the Captain of the Meat Assembly team
Another Maangchi recipe…budae-jjigae this time! And ooooh man it was SO delicious.
Friday! Another off-site shoot
Met to film in City Hall, such a beautiful building! Originally done in the 20s.
The bathrooms all so charming!
Views from the top of City Hall. I believe anybody is allowed to go to City Hall and take the elevators up to the skydeck.
Lunch at Far Bar in Little Tokyo—had another location to shoot and then headed back to try to beat rush hour.
Dan and Sufi prepare for our final Dungeons and Dragons meeting before Dan and James head out for the summer.
Welby aka Zach causing a ruckus
Tweedy had to get his butt drained lol so Sufi and I hung out in the parking lot together
Leftovers and avocado for lunch
Took the train to downtown with Kiki and Ders
Walk to Boomtown Brewery!

Another day, another attempt at the Overlook. I’ve been really sore the last few days, like…SO unbelievably sore that it’s been hard to get in and out of bed.
Did about half what I usually do but with sore legs it felt like an accomplishment
Gyoza soup with the leftover chicken
Met up with Kiki and Ders to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Omg, can you believe the first one came out in 2003?!?!!?
Mind blown.
Much love friends.
Yay! A post! But also sad that you’re all caught up :(( Hehe.
