MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: FEBRUARY 27–MARCH 5, 2017! (PART 1)
Starting the week in Vegas at the Neon Museum, ending the week in a snowstorm in Tahoe. A week of late work nights and early mornings that was worth it, saw friends from high school, built snow-people, overcame a mountain storm, and more.
Enjoy!
Good morning! Here’s our view from our hotel room in the day. Surprisingly pleasant. Does feel like we’re in a castle ahah.
Zeen and I decided to go down to get some coffees
Excalibur tries to stay on theme
Decided to walk from the Middle Ages to New York
We were early, Shake Shack didn’t open for another few minutes.
Headed to Downtown Vegas, mainly to hit up the Beef Jerky Store to get my mom rice crackers
Wandered in and out of the casinos along Fremont Experience
Golden bathroom in the Golden Nugget
This is the 3rd time I’ve attempted to go to the Neon Museum, and 3rd times the charm! Got our tickets. (If you want to visit, book ahead! They require you to book a tour. The evening ones sell out fastest, just an FYI!)
This museum is a former neon sign graveyard that now displays old neon Vegas signs. The guide talks about the signs but also the cultural and historic context of the year of their creation. Super interesting tour, esp if you’re into history. Plus the whole site is photogenic if you’re not into history.
The museum is organized by chronology, so this is one of the oldest signs from the Golden Nugget.
These signs are all hand-made, hand-painted, and programmed. Each really is a beautiful work of art.
Neon heaven (just imagine the tour in the evening, with all the lights on)
The skull that used to be at Treasure Island
Okay, hard to stop posting photos from here. But okay…let’s move on.
Hopped in the car, and we continued on our road trip back to Los Angeles. Yeah…still reading Helter Skelter
Got back to Los Angeles around 8 or 9 pm
Managed to get to the grocery store
Wearing my breakfast socks that I got in Park City
Got my shit together and had breakfast and prepared my lunch
Got to the Getty and did a lil’ photoshootin’ in the morning to the afternoon
I love being in the research library
My makeshift desk for the afternoon
Got home, threw some gyoza soup together
Doing some more work in the evening, Tweedy helped me
Left work really late, thankfully there was more soup left
AND A NEW SEASON OF FACE OFF OMG ALL STARS
Woke up early to get some freelance stuff finished
And got a jump on packing for my weekend trip to see friends from high school up north
Full day at work before escaping to Tahoe
I always joke we only have knives in our pantry. And today? Only knives. C’mon.
Zach and I managed to squeeze our snow clothes (including ski helmet, gloves, snow pants, snow jacket, layers, etc.), and normal clothes into these bags
Zach put it in his calendar to see if in 3 months something will happen to me haha
Our plane was delayed, but we were still in good spirits
