MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JANUARY 9–15, 2017!
An especially rainy and foggy week in Los Angeles, finishing the last big events of our first Dungeons and Dragons campaign, becoming a dog walker (yeahhhh), and Zach runs the Disney half-marathon!
Enjoy!
Good morn! The night before I prepped all my ingredients that had to be cut, and this morning I just assembled the rest of the recipe.
We’ll see how it looks in 8 hours
Rainy day wearing my new mom-made scarf
I love being up at the Getty when it’s raining
Leftovers my mom brought me on Sunday, delicious lunch.
Had a work meeting at a coffee shop with a bright green bathroom
8 hours later I took out the chicken and shredded it…
Walked to the grocery store to get some chips to have with dinner
Home in time to play Overcooked! It’s just so delightful.
And then took some time to study some dog harnesses
Found this shirt and forgot I owned it
Light rain while I wandered around
That night I met up with Kiki and Mandy for bowling
A bunch of fried things to share
Beer pong made into an arcade game
Back at my apartment Glenn is obsessed over
Hey Inner Peristyle! We were there scoping out some future story ideas.
Home and I attempted to make lazy oil-less quesadillas in the oven
They turned out okay (I’ve got leftovers from that chicken crock pot dish for daaays)
Brought the doggos to PetsSmart to try on harnesses. I decided to become a dog walker through Wag! the app, and one of the last requirements is a harness test. I was nervous so I wanted to be ready.
Then without the dogs we drove out to Hollywood for two back to back improv shows
Good morning! This apple is giant.
Sad “I need to go grocery shopping” lunch packed
Assistant with set up for a few quick shoots today
A going away party ft. hummus rainbow
A quick hello to the pups before heading off finish our first D&D campaign finally!
We did it! We finished our first campaign! Moving on the next one hopefully in February…
Woke up really early on Friday because I was anxious about my Wag orientation thing. Watched more harness videos…
I’m wearing socks that look eerily like my skin
At the park. It started at 9 and I got out around 11
And had the opportunity to finally chill out (was unnecessarily anxious about the Wag orientation/final in-person test) and finish my puzzle
Got dressed finally like a human and headed to pick up Zach from his improv class
We headed to Anaheim to pick up Zach’s half-marathon stuff
Which running hat should he get? I voted for yoda, of course.
Since we were already here, decided to spend a few hours knowing we’d be back on Sunday for the actual marathon day
Actually stood in line for the Cove Bar. I’ve never tried it before, there’s always a huge line
Lobster nachos and pork sliders!
And a drink with a color changing ice cube
We then decided to do all the little kid rides in California Adventure’s Bug land
All the wait times were 5 minutes, and it was a blast just letting loose on the basic rides
We did the newly redone Soarin’ (no longer just over California) but over the world
More freelance design stuff while Tweedy passed out
Decided to play some basketball at the local elementary school courts
I haven’t played since the Alaska cruise and it was so much fun! (I’m still sore…)
So they were pretty short, but we were rushing off to the movies
Went to see Pedro Almodovar’s “Bad Education” at Cinefamily. SO GOOD! I really enjoyed it.
Been seeing these dog posters around, so happy to get my pic with them
Sunday morning, had to wake up by 4 and be in the car leaving by 4:30 AM…so early
Today’s the day of the Disneyland Star Wars themed half marathon!!! Zach had to be there by 5:30, and I was just tagging along
Everybody had great Star Wars costumes
I found myself a spot by the main entrance to watch the runners go by…then casually read some of Helter Skelter.
Got word Zach finished the race in less than 2 hours! Woooo
We headed into the park before it opened
I haven’t experienced “rope drop” which happens when the park opens. People can file in and wait for that time on main street…felt special to be in there before 9
His dream of mailing something from Disneyland! (He sent in a bill)
First things first? Gotta get to Space Mountain
He didn’t have a change of clothes so we had to buy himself a shirt. He was originally going to go back to the car to get clothes, but we were too excited to get in the park early.
So thrilled to see some Moana swag
Zach was passionate about doing the toon town coaster
Tried the buffalo ranch popcorn, I still like the dill pickle better
Single rider for the cars ride
Watched the Frozen Live show, I may not love the movie but I think the show is delightful (as delightful as a Disney stage production can be)
I loved the Star Wars puzzle set from Disney so much that when I saw they had a ride-themed puzzle set with the same graphic style I was SOLD. More puzzles!
On the way home we stopped at Taco Bell…we were bad at eating today
Sufi ready to catch any droppings or leftovers.
Much love friends!
