This is Wednesday, November 16, 2016!
This was supposed to be an “ordinary” day off where I do a lot of chores, errands, and chill at home—but unfortunately I woke up feeling nauseous with a bad headache…decided to document anyways!
Woke up with somebody next to me
Not feeling well, Tweedy! Snuggle me.
Finally peel myself out of bed
Had some coffee, working to gain some strength. I was planning on getting so much done today.
Let the dogs out of the bedroom—they know it’s walk time
They always get me tangled like this, it’s their signature move
Gecko gets some fresh food and water
Some packages had arrived from Zeen
A guidebook for Japan, and a box of some peculiar little figures…
Mysterious little gnomes…I ask Zach where they came from, and turns out Charlyene Yi makes them by hand for a new gnome etsy shop “Magic Magic”
Reading the descriptions of each gnome…just delightful. Making me feel much better.
Comfort TV, watching Bob’s Burgers
Napped for a little bit with Tweedy
Finally feeling a bit better post-nap. Do the dishes.
Had my miso soup and last cuddles with Tweedy before getting my butt UP
Getting to some freelance design stuff
Got around to vacuuming up the baking soda (that was soaking up dog pee from the rug)
Whenever the dogs get stressed, they pee on the rug
Tweedy watching something on the iPad
Switched over to editing some photos from a family event
A picture I took of my little cousins was used on the “minted” website for their sample card ahah
Was feeling hungry, so decided to cook up all I had. You can find these at the asian supermarket, it comes with tofu and the soup flavoring. You can add in anything you’d like (veggies, proteins, egg)
Boil water then add in the flavor packet
I added in some frozen seafood and some frozen gyoza
Then at the very end add in the soft tofu
I plunked it in and of course the tofu splashed the broth all over the stove
Enjoyed my soup with some leftover rice and watched The Crown
The light is already getting a bit darker, it’s so early
Soaking up the last of the daylight
Texting Gabby about her coming over for our planned dinner
Send my Auntie her photos from the 50th Anniversary party I photographed.
Love this coat, it makes me so snuggly
Gabby has arrived! Let’s roll.
We head to Sawtelle, the casual name for “Little Osaka” or a strip of Japanese restaurants and shops along Sawtelle near Olympic
We weren’t super hungry yet, so we stopped at a place to grab a beer
Playing catch up with my Gabbita ❤
We were tempted by this menu, but Gabby wanted to try some Korean food I told her about
We get to the restaurant and it’s windy and chilly and we are pumped to hurry and get seated
Spicy rice cakes! They are like the Korean version of mochi, in a red pepper flake semi-sweet sauce.
Kimchi fried rice with an egg on top YAS.
Gabby also wanted to try the chicken wings with sweet and spicy sauce, and we shared a cheese ramen hot pot. Wowowowo.
Brought a LOT of leftovers home, had to transfer to a plastic container
That’s gonna be a great lunch later tis week
Kind Gabby takes the trash out with her
I set up coffee for the next morning
Posing or scratching my head? You’ll never know. (Scratching.)
Pop my claritin, I take one every night to help with my allergies
I fell asleep with all the lights on, woke up with it was past midnight and noticed…
The dogs frickin’ peed on the rug again!!!! They are just sad and stressed about Zach leaving for 2 weeks
Cleaned up that mess, and went to bed shortly after.
Much love friends.
