MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JUNE 20-26, 2016!
A surprise gecko, a week of sleeping on the living room floor, making military food at work, an exhibition about origami, and spending way too long cooking Vietnamese chicken salad.
Enjoy!
Wonky pano image – but just wanted to get the shadow and window in the same photo.
On the summer solstice, the library has a oculus that lines up perfectly with the window’s shadow. It only lines up this perfectly once a year, so staff always gather to watch.
Some afternoon work drone testing
Hot wings on a Monday night? It happens.
Camera tests with Kiki and Tweedy
It’s been over 100 degrees during the day, so I slept in the living room on the futon on the floor. The air conditioner thinggy only works in the living room…it’s the only source of relief.
Everybody wakes up without a pool of sweat. Excellent!
New exhibition on landscapes just opened, I pass by the new signage (which I quite like) on the way to the Gauguin for our weekly periscope show.
Leftover Father’s Day burrito looks…awful, but tastes great.
Hana came over and brought a surprise gecko. It’s a crested gecko – anybody ever own one? I have the basics for him, but any tips?
Ramen at the Mitsuwa food court
Hana never has done a mini-candy kit, so of course we had to do one. I think this is my best donut kit success yet.
Gecko. Never really held a lizard/gecko/reptile before
Was guilted by the blood test people because I had soy milk with coffee – totally forgot I was getting a physical.
And Tubby sitting in a pile of bits of cardboard and his own fur
We’re still sleeping in the living room…too hot.
Cookin’ up some coconut milk noodles

Thursday was the LA-wide museum Instagram swap. I was at the Museum of Tolerance a few weeks ago hearing stories and taking photos for this. Our 1,000th post was of Holocaust survivor Mike and his wife. Here’s all the posts from that day.
Tristan and I went “camping” during lunch hour at work and made an MRE.
Walking to a meeting with our amazing MRE food.
Forgot my skirt, had to wear this chip bag
A beautiful evening to watch your bff ice her stye
Melon margarita. What a terrible idea.
It’s Friday, which means employee lunch deals on pasta. Mmm.
Saturday, I’m off to use the metro to head downtown.
Creepy falling people art installation. What is the meaning of this!
Grand Park and the cute pink chairs
Tristan and I are down in Little Tokyo for V3Con, a digital media and journalism conference.
We heard sessions on podcasts, original content for social media (including snapchat), and video production.
Ran into my former co-worker, Steve!!!!

Conference lunch sponsored by Panda Express
End of day, passing back through Grand Park
I picked up these socks at the museum earlier
Pics from a party at a friend’s place – the party was to determine the new name of her feminist reading group. There was voting involved.
Spent most of Sunday cooking a vietnamese chicken salad recipe that was waaaaay more complex than it appears.
Marie works with a friend to host a cookbook club gathering – everybody brings a dish from a pre-chosen cookbook.
Sunday night, time for the FINALE OF GAME OF THRONES.
Amazing episode. I might re-watch the entire series.
Much love friends.
