MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: OCTOBER 19-25, 2015!
I stress about speaking on my first ever professional panel that afterwards Zeen and I flee the city for a poorly planned roadtrip through Utah! A win in Vegas, scenic hiking through Park City, and of course bourbon tasting to beat the cold.
Enjoy!
Good morning, back into the routine
New food shows are opening at the Getty, had to photograph a few things this AM
Caught a colleague soaking up the afternoon sun
Magic hour is coming earlier and earlier
At a UCB show with Zeen. *Too sleepy for comedy*
Added my little *praise* emoji hands pin to my jacket. Tonight I’m speaking on a social media & museums panel and I wanted to be in the spirit!
Working on a blog post about spirit photography. Here’s a link to the finished post if you’re curious!
At the Social Media Club of LA’s event with my fellow awesome museum social media ladies. (Post-panel of course), I was too nervous all day and before to take any photos. It went pretty well!
Got home and to de-stress I fell into a world of Sims and popcorn
Good morning! Both pups looking out the window.
A frosty windshield!!!! The first of the season.
An awesome educator at the museum made us little tombstone cookies.
A blurry photo of 3 deer walkin’ down the hill
Back at the pumpkin patch to grab some new babies for carving. “Is this one ripe?”
A team effort to get all the guts out
Made some of my mom’s famous rosemary chicken! It turned out so well! I don’t always trust my oven.
TWEEDY AND SUFI PUMPKIN! (This is 1 pumpkin, carved each face on opposite sides)
I started packing some things for the Utah roadtrip we were about to go on…Tweedy knew what was up.
We’re officially on our way to Vegas! Can’t drive from LA to Vegas without stopping at the Barstow In N out
A quick hokey visit to the Mob Museum in Vegas. Not really worth going to – it’s all kind of a sensationalist mess BUT if you wanna wander around an air conditioned space I guess go for it.
The most interesting panel is the whole place
Zach feeling confused and overwhelmed with the downtown area of Vegas and the “Fremont Experience.” This is the Vegas I know well since my asian league basketball team came here to play when I was in high school.
Found a deal online to try the CSI experience…we’ve been big fans of escape rooms in LA and let me tell you…this is nothing like one.
Writing down observations and evidence from each crime scene.
I know people dress up in Vegas…so I did my best.
HI! Just tryna look nice for once
They have a canal…inside the hotel…
I WON $70 PLAYING VIDEO BLACKJACK!!!
Walked over to see the Bellagio Foundations…but when we arrived we had missed the last show…
So we did the next best thing and tried White Castle for the first time. Pretty disgusting…(but I guess a barely open Vegas branch version isn’t a fair chance)
Breakfast before we hit the road!
Grabbing a thank you gift for Zach’s family that we’ll be staying with in Salt Lake City
And through these mountains, we’re in Utah
We stopped in this tiny cute town, with beautiful fall leaves
Back on the road again, after grabbing a salad at a Parowan pizza shop
Thanks for being a good co-pilot
Made it to Utah and had to bundle in the car…of course then Zach farted as we were taking the picture…jesus
At Nielsen’s in Salt Lake City…trying their famous frozen custard “concrete”. Zach is delighted.
Playing a game with Zach’s cousins, they are the expert board game authorities.
Going out for breakfast in the morning on Saturday
At Eggs in the City in Salt Lake
And my heaping plate of eggs and avocado and chorizo!
Driving out to Park City this AM
The trail started near some homes…on an unmarked clearing…this seems…safe
Most of my pictures were on the film camera or bigger digital camera, so don’t worry if you’re curious about details in Utah, I have more to post later.
So shady and blue on the way up
And an awesome view once you reach the top!
Getting chilly on the way down
Beautiful!!!!!!!! PURPLE MOUNTAINS MAJESTY
Stopped at High West Distillery to sample some bourbon to warm us up
And a beautiful evening on the mountain!
Good morning! Leaving Park City today
Stopping for a big ass burrito
Two hours north of Salt Lake City is the road to the Spiral Jetty!!! To get there you have to pass this monument from the joining of the trailroads, “The Golden Spike”
Couldn’t find it. Oh well! TO SPIRAL JETTY!
Spiral Jetty requires a bit of off roading. I’ll do a separate post on Spiral Jetty…I have so many beautiful photos to share.
Trying not to share too many here!
And we spent a few hours here and near the waters of the Great Salt Lake…
Before heading off on our 6 hour drive to Zion!
And that concludes our Sunday. Many more photos to share. 🙂
Thanks for your patience! It’s been very busy at work…
Much love friends.
