MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JANUARY 19 – 25, 2015!
I re-did my workspace and now I am so pleased with it. I also ate a lot of blue cheese, visited Ikea for the first time, went bowling, and wore my hair in little embarrassing buns way too frequently.
Enjoy!
And hope you're well.
THIS WEEK IN PHOTOS LAST YEAR: HERE!
Monday was a holiday (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) which meant no work. This meant I could be a good dog mom and the take the boys out for a long adventure.
I hope this series of Tweedy running is enough to blow your mind.
Kiki absorbing the sun and making sure doofy Sufi doesn't run away
Tweedy is adorable, but always gets pooped.
But then Kiki had the best idea for chili, adding a fried egg, cheese and some spicy buffalo sauce. Truly delicious.
We then played about 3-4 hours of the Mordor game on xbox.
The three of us chipped in to buy 12.
The night ended with a dramatic 2 firetruck/ambulance ordeal and smokey air. (Not at mine, but at the neighbors)
Tuesday morning, some lovely light on my night stand while I enjoyed coffee
Another foggy morning, happy to see rain!
Another round of chili + fried egg
Zach found a bowling alley nearby, but when we arrived it was CLOSED FOR RENOVATION! WAH! So we called around to a few other places…
Pretty empty. My one complaint about this place was they had music videos blasting on the walls behind the lanes. It's easy to watch and like I get it…but if you wanted to like have a conversation or like joke or chat, mostly you're just distracted by a music video of Taylor Swift.
On Wednesday I went home for a dentist appointment. Long story short, had to reschedule but got to hang out with my cousins.
Mom made yet ANOTHER scarf. She's really pumping them out.
Then off to my babysittin' gig where I get to see this cute pup.
Some hours later I'm in Ralphs, scrounging up ingredients to make easy peasy dinner for the weekend.
Thursday rolls around and I notice that the lights are still up in the trees at work! That's pleasant.
I make a big helping of chicken tikka masala. The sauce was from a jar, so it was a bit too sweet for my tastes. I'll have to try out some other versions.
We get in the game and slay some more Uruks in Mordor
So Tweedy licked himself another hotspot, he gets to wear the collar of shame again!
Wearing a dress to work is fun. It's always cold in my room in the mornings so I like to get into jeans as soon as possible usually, but today I went more girly.
Coffee with Tristan as a Friday pick me up
Saturday morning and the light was doing fun stuff on the ceiling
The dogs were super cute, but I was determined to organize the cluttered mess in my workroom. It keeps me from being productive and I was determined to fix it.
Lookin' weird at Big Lots. First stop was a Goodwill, then another thrift store nearby, then Big Lots. Then Target. I was just looking for a tall bookcase with doors. A cabinet, a chest, I dunno what to call it. But the key part is that it needed to be able to CLOSE, so that my mess could be contained.
Couldn't find what I needed so had to suck it up and journey to Ikea. Twas my first Ikea experience…not sure what I was expecting but I thought it was going to be like 500 Days of Summer but more vicious?
I like this room. ^__^ I'll live here
FAKE PROPS. THE BEST. DOES IKEA ALSO MANUFACTURE FAKE HP COMPUTERS.
While we wait for our pick up, we try the infamous Swedish meatballs. Emmy does an Emmy Eats on Ikea food…if you wanted to know
All done! It was definitely like…a whole journey. You can't just "swing by" that's for sure.
New shelf unit made a nice human blockade for driving.
Zach helping me set up the shelf
Once it was together I spent a long while reorganizing, throwing away things, and cleaning up
Found a little eyebrow I made for some illustrations aha
Kind of ugly cause this was taken at night, BUT, you can see the new shelf/storage in the corner, and I reorganized the futon and the printer shelf. It's…SO much more spacious. I just love being in that room.
We were starving after all that, so met up with Kiki and Kass at Alibi Room for some kogi food and cocktails.
Then ventured to my favorite dive bar, Tattle Tale. It's the perfect level of dirty plus there's always karaoke. And like. GOOD karaoke singers.
Tried the Popeye Pinball machine which is actually the worst pinball machine I've ever played ahah
Yeah, I went out looking like a mess, but sometimes you don't care at all. So.
He knows what time it is. (The little dots on the bottom of the tub are cracks…tiny nasty cracks)
LOOK at my workspace in the light. It's so lovely, I'm so happy with it. I think the shelf Zach made for me really stands out now, the wood and copper are so pretty against the white cabinet. *Sigh* Sorry I don't mean to be like "OH LOOK AT MY STUFF" but I just am so relieved that I finally have a space that feels really good to be in. That I want to be in! That doesn't have a TV or a distracting thing in it.
Today Zach had errands to run and since he helped me yesterday, I tagged along
Pretty fancy area, like really pricey boutiques and restaurants. Not really my scene, but I didn't mind wandering around. It was actually crowded (For LA standards) on the street, so getting some hustle and bustle is nice.
Ate a delicious blackened fish sandwich
Later in the afternoon we drove to Little Tokyo to meet up with Kiki and Kass again
At Far Bar, here to try special "WinterFest" beers on tap
A sour, two strong ales, and a porter
After eating we wandered over to the mall to hit up the karaoke place
2 hours of karaoke. Hoarse throat alert.
But pretty lights on the way out!
*Whew*
And that's the week!
Much love friends.
