My Week in Photos: June 16 – 22
A french bulldog, homemade hot wings, and a lil' trip to Texas.
Attempting to roast veggies (whoops forgot to butter/spray the foil) and make a greens for a few days.
Sufi being glamorous in the fan
Frazzled in the summer time at the office
Had an intern start working with our team. I knew she was gonna be great when she showed up on her first day with these bad boys on.
Summer is a fun time to walk around the galleries. People are all around, and it's always interesting to see what intrigues visitors.
Sweet Gabby cooked me up some garlic avocado toast…
I treated her to a horrifying red mouth display after our dessert of popsicles.
Trying to get into American Horror Story season 3…COVEN! Arrhgjdklsa.
Well not really LA…since I'm in Pasadena for a play.
Piano dress and yellow sweater. Classy.
The play was kind of a hilarious bust.
I didn't feel too bad giggling aloud, nobody was really there to hear. Physical comedy timed badly just reinforced how talented physical comedians are!
After a mid-week play, must bring it back down to my level and try a dorito taco.
I've had the cheddar ones before, but this was SPICY cheddar. It was fine. Not really a dorito, but more like a taco shell with powder on it.
RED.
(Rejected Taylor Swift cover)
Picking up an important delivery from the loading dock.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CUTIE PIES!
Adorable tiny, bite-sized pies.
Sometimes I'm charmed by the LA aesthetic.
Fancy meter.
This pizza shop really boasted some b-list celebs and politicians.
Pizza was yummy though!
Met up with Sara in Los Feliz…mostly to CUDDLE THIS DOG.
"Hit me."
We finally beat the fire fighting game! Only killed two people. 😦
*Blink* I'm in Austin, Texas! Here to see Jeff Tweedy perform and be a tourist. It's hot…
Pork ribs, brisket, and sausages! Okay!
Lots of random BBQ joints liked or commented on my instagram of this sign…impressive.
In my narrow mind, Texas (which is giant, I realize!) is really flat and really dry. Kind of like the California landscape between LA and SF. NOT the case. There's a lake! It's humid as heck! I guess it's kind of "the South"…potentially…in any case, it was lovely.
Doing WATER things! Well…gearing up to do water things.
Post water things! I'm horribly afraid of lakes. I just don't like not being able to see what's around me/beneath me. I didn't swim for long. Especially after I heard about the water snakes.
Austin also has different "wildlife". Well, we have lizards in CA, but I'm talking horseflies, water snakes (!!!), lots and lots of bugs/mosquitoes…
Being "cool" in downtown Austin
I'll never be an amazing succulent parent. T____T
The amazing Austin City Limits theater!
If I find the taping once it airs on TV I'll share it
I must say, EVERY bathroom I used had a mural of some kind in it. I think Austin is a city full of bathroom muralists.
Amy's Icecream! They THROW the scoops around and have real chatty behind the counter dudes. I got a 10% discount for answering a trivia question right.
Right next door is Waterloo Records, an amazing music shop. Got some CDs for my car.
Little Foot! (yup, named after Land before Time)
Amazing family car with like 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 4+ horses….
Barton Springs! It's a natural pool that draws the crowds during the summer.
I went to "Barking" Springs right next to it. It's a shallower part of the natural spring that has features for kids and dogs to play.
Pretty smelly, but pretty great.
Heard so much about the Alamo Drafthouse! Went to see Edge of Tomorrow. Emily Blunt is rad.
Great mural on the way to campus that featured…
Glow in the dark bowling on the University campus
SEE??!?!
Sno-beach! (Check out some of those weird flavors for a snow cone)
Half watermelon, half cantaloupe with "cream"
Even the Austin airport has murals.
Home to LA to rescue Kiki and Gabby from the dogs.
Time to rest.
And that was last week! I have many weeks in between to share. So stay tuned.
Much love friends.
