My Week in Photos: May 5 – May 11
A week of chili, chili and more chili. I attempted to cook every day, but failed.
And of course lovely friends, Gettyland work and a very happy family Mother's day weekend. Enjoy!
Been eyeballing the gardens ever since visiting the Butchart Gardens in Canada.
Walked the pups to the grocery store in the AM to get some crucial coffee and milk
Went into the Villa today, didn't have my usual work notebook with me at home, so I brought this for me. My friend Lena got it for me at Palais de Tokyo
The workstation got a bit of tinsel upgrade
Got to hang and take pictures of a group of photographers visiting the Villa
Co-worker matching the walls
I've been all about this little balcony ever since I rearranged the living space to enhance views of the window. Sufi loves it too!
Kiki walked with me to the grocery store
And by the time we walked back Gabby was there with Sufi (she brought him into work haha)
Made some nachos with ground turkey, onions, jalapeno, cheese and homemade guacamole heck yeah!
We played a game of Mario Party to end the eve
Kids recognize Tweedy around the neighborhood, I think mostly because the landlord's daughter pet sat for me once and I'm pretty sure she showed him to the kids in the neighborhood. He gets so much attention now, just stopped in the road!
Oh yeah…my office is different now. At least I have this plant! Helps me breathe.
I got this little slow cooker months and months ago, but finally brought it out to try making chili!
Kiki comes over again, this time with hot cheetos in hand
heheheh
I TRIED IT FINALLY! Too sweet. BUT I GOT TO TRY!
And my beloved first attempt at spicy turkey chili worked! It was very delicious!
Wednesday I ran some errands, including picking up kabob
I dropped off film at a local developing place
Not as good as what I've had in London sigh
Homes on the way
Happy Thursday! Trying a different route down into my dungeon office…
Friday rolls around – here I am about to take a garden tour
Here to get some content about the Robert Irwin garden! Woo! Tour guide looks like the Mother of Dragons…
I drive by this building a lot. I like it's shape and color.
RACHEL IS IN TOWN THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at these tin cups! So cold and delightful!
Rachel and I get Gabby to start Instagramming. We're her first picture. Score.
Considering ahi tuna tacos were on the table, we got the #1 spot in her feed!
So sad I only get to see Rachel infrequently now. Sigh.
I found a hilarious rack of old items (many from Easter) including these two butter centric items. "Butter mints"…has anybody tried these???
Lots of my mom's side got together over the weekend for a beach house escape to celebrate Mother's Day
I took many photos with my other cameras, so I'll share those later! Lots of cute kids…be warned.
It was just such a great weekend. I'm so blessed to have such tight family.
I brought brownie mix, but EVERY little cousin wanted to help me make it. It was just boxed mix! NOthing fancy. But everybody did their part.
Everybody was excited and awake so early. Went swimming and taught lil' cousins to boogie board at like 9 AM. The Pacific Ocean is COLD.
Sushi stop by the beach with my parents on Mother's Day sunday
Mom enjoying baked yellowtail cheek
My dad got a new phone…they have been experimenting with selfies.
Later that evening I found myself at 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica. Was nice to see a bit of a hustle and bustle.
Had to stop at the candy store! I found a "crunchie" which I was told is similar to a velvet crumble. I would love to figure out a snack trade system here sometime. I can send some US treats and salties, and we can all switch snacks and favorites…haha, I dunno. Would have to work it out.
Running out of the theater after Spiderman 2. Very sleepy.
Many more photos coming…
I'm very sad to report that the first attempt at recoving my data on my hard drive failed. Waiting to hear if the 2nd attempt works. FINGERS CROSSED.
I guess losing all that data has made me shoot film. Can't lose that.
Much love friends! Happy Mother's Day.
