MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: AUGUST 12β18, 2019!
Got film developed, was a little too ambitious with our first time charcoal grilling, saw a few movies at the Alamo Drafthouse, and learned my mom’s shabu shabu recipe.
Enjoy!

Truly pleased with how this little mustard planter came out!

Medium bowl and planter coming home with me.

Testing some glazes because I’m working on a piece for Kiki’s birthday later in September.

First try at the vase shape on the right here.

Meal prepped for the week with some chicken and veggies

Barnes and Noble, went hard on a few new books.

Night with Kiki and Ders to see Hausu at the Alamo

Determined to rectify the messy corner situation soon.

Wandering through medieval art galleries at work

Picked up my underwater disposable camera film

Some shots from the film camera

From when we went to a music festival earlier in the year

The corner organization has improved! Got the comic boxes off of Etsy.

Back to Samy’s for my second film pick up. As I was organizing some things in the workroom, I found some undeveloped rolls of black and white film. HUGE surprise that they were actually from high school. So many familiar faces.

Wanted to buy one succulent to put into the pot I made

Swinging by the Platform for an acai bowl I CAN’T HELP IT I LOVE

Alyssa kindly invited me to go with her to try on some wedding dresses for her wedding. (I truly understand now what it means when people say ‘wedding season’ in your life, lots of good friends planning a wedding!)

We got margaritas and a snack afterwards

Lenore let me borrow these glasses, and truly wish I kept them forever

Hanging in Alyssa’s yard with her kitties getting some outdoor time.

Alyssa’s glorious new cape that I wore outside while it was getting a bit chilly.

Worked on the card for Ritchie and Keri as a thank you note

And the next day went to my parents house for lunch and to see all the progress of their renovation. New furniture finally arrived!

Ah, the familiar feeling of calling my dad to come eat.

Murf, making himself right at home

Get off the table, Tubbs! It is time to eat.

Got home to this massive box…and inside? Welp.

A new scrub daddy, what a feeling.

We wanted to test out the outdoor grill thinggy in the backyard, so of course I had to have a salt spill disaster.

It was horribly smokey at first. We are total amateurs, never have used a charcoal grill before (can’t you tell)

Good start…the charcoal actually lit up!

Looking back on this, we definitely didn’t use enough charcoal

Turns out we did NOT give ourselves enough time (hours…) and had to throw everything on the stove. Well, we certainly learned that we needed more heat and more charcoal overall.

Rushed off to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. A bloody end to the week.
Thanks for reading!

Much love friends!

(I’ve just moved to North Macedonia, where they use wood stoves.) I’ve learned that you should probably just use twice as much charcoal as you think you need and definitely start way early in the day.
