MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JUNE 10–16, 2019!

Dog-sitting Snoop, cleaning up my workspace, tackling a 6-hour long board game with friends, and celebrating Father’s Day with my family.

Enjoy!

Monday morning, we have a guest doggo in the house. This is Snoop, he’s with us for a few days.

Sufi quickly sat in Snoop’s bed and didn’t give it up.

While the potatoes baked again, I went out to look at the bonsai. We’ve been fussing over it after reading some bonsai blogs. It came with rocks glued to the soil which apparently should be removed asap, those are done by the store to sell them and make them nicer looking, but the glue can be toxic to the roots! Arghhh.

One of my goals while Snoop was staying with us was to make him love me but the plan backfired because he loved Zach so much

Decided to finally tidy and clean up the workspace and organize my open shelves. I love and hate the open shelves, they are convenient but staying organized isn’t my forte for sure.

It has been a while since I’ve done little watercolor doodles, but it is Father’s Day on Sunday and only fair that I paint him something. (Plus a card for my mom, I gave her pottery for Mother’s Day but she said she still missed the hand-painted card)

It was Saturday’s goal to learn how to play War of the Ring, a game that has two sides good and evil playing against each other.

By the time James arrived, Zach was still learning and setting up the game (it took him over 2 hours to watch videos, set up the game, read the book, etc.)

The chicken was pretty good, and the fries were cajun which I enjoy.

Let the games begin! It took us….6 hours….to continue learning the game AND to successfully finish. Though we did learn later that despite all the effort to learn the game, we still didn’t play 100% correctly.

Our journey to rescue this plant continues inside. It was originally in the bathroom, then in got some mites, so we moved it outside, it didn’t like too much water then didn’t get enough, so then we pulled off the dead leaves and whisked it inside. PLEASE GET BETTER LITTLE BABY. Determined not to let this die.

Happy Father’s Day! To celebrate my mom and I are going outside without my dad to repot some orchids haha.

Success! We’ll see if they survive.

I’ll leave you with my hilariously bad attempt at printing my own passport photo.

Thank you for reading! I realize I am very late as this week is still June…but I swear photos have been taken, many are ready to go, and some are still to be edited. Life goes on.

A question that you may or may not feel inclined to answer? So! Let’s do it. I invite you to answer in the comments:

What is the most intense or longest board game you’ve ever played?

Much love friends!

    1. I am working on my green thumb! But the real hero is Zach who is the keeper of the watering schedule…

Oooh Risk. I’m a bad Risk player…not forward-thinking enough and too attached to my armies.

  1. Seriously, any time we try to learn a new board game it takes forever! I recall Arkham Horror taking a bit, Pandemic Legacy (which was the first Pandemic we played), and Gloomhaven all come to mind. Even Cosmic Encounter….

    1. It can seem like you’ll never learn when you first start, it’s always easier to have somebody in the group who has already played. I’m a bad rule reader, I always try to just start the game and “learn by playing” haha
