MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: APRIL 30–MAY 8, 2018! (ECHO PARK LAKE, LOS ANGELES FOLK ART)
A week in Los Angeles after my Oakland weekend with friends. Bowling night with work folks, living up in the hometown nostalgia, a visit to Randyland, and lounging at Echo Park Lake.
Enjoy!
Good morning! Happy Monday. It’s finally time to open my little packages gifted to me kindly by friend for my b-day.
Tweedy, you stay in there. It’s not your time yet!
From Gabby, the most accurate representations of the dog’s personalities I’ve ever seen hahah.
Need to find an iron for these pants. I know I have one somewhere.
Alone afterwork, desperately needing some introvert recharging time to myself. Ordered WAY too much Indian food from a place I haven’t tried before. Guess I’ll be having leftovers for a week, yay!
Monday night, computer, couch, delivery.
Leftovers! Yes. I love having a warm lunch.
Formerly known as “Spa Getty” or “Spaghetti,” the work gym changed its name and everybody is sad. They’ve been redoing the locker rooms so it’s been hard to keep my routine.
Tuesday, had my shit togethere enough to make breakfast.
Zach sent me this pic. He’s…so fuzzy.
Slightly late day in the office, but a nice sunset on my way out.
I really only wear the same 5 things, I should do a big closet clean out.
Thursday—our department had a bowling night in the Valley.
So we retreated to the arcade.
After bowling night, Tristan beat me at darts at a nearby brewery.
Tweeeeeedy. He’ll lounge anywhere.
I love my dirty mirror and my Hi life shirt
Asked my cousin a few weeks back where she got her purple sandals and then went to get my own pair at Target
Hanging in South Pas with Andrea and Gabby. And ended up wearing my Hi Life shirt to Hi Life.
Fish sandwich and fries with seasoning yes.
In downtown for a course. Taking a workshop on programming for non-programmers.
Was home tired after the long workshop. Was ready to stay in but I could resist an invitation to soup dumplings.
DIN TAI FUNG. So happy to have one in the Century City mall now.
Sunday morning. Pretty sure only my teeth and armpit are in focus.
Wasn’t so sure about this ruffle shirt I got at target, but decided to take a risk why not.
Zach told me we were going somewhere at 10 but didn’t tell me where. Turns out it was Randyland!
“Phantasma Gloria” is the sculpture made by Randy in his front yard in Echo Park. You can schedule a time to see it (he prefers 10am and 5pm when light is best). He has redone the sculpture a few times in the last few years. He’s really into refracted light and color.
You can see the full effect from the street
Stopped for pizza at Tomato Pie, the best.
I headed to Echo Park to claim a spot for a picnic gathering.
Our area grew with more and more blankets
Leisurely few hours at the park chatting, eating, playing games. So nice to just be outside.
Boiling Crab. It’s been a minute. So delicious.
And that wraps up this week! Hope you’ve been well. I’ve been busy with family and weekend travels, but catching up now!
Much love friends.
I really love your friendship with Alex, those gifts are so cute! And Gabby is so talented, look at that depiction of the doggos! 😀
I love Indian food, seriously your posts help me with my meal plan for the week…
Spa Getty / Spaghetti is so much better :((
So nice to see Andrea as always!
I love Din Tai Fung! And I love your ruffle shirt!
Randyland is so awesome, and omg Boiling Crab! Plus conversations and just enjoying the afternoon with friends are the best 🙂
