MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: SEPTEMBER 26-OCTBOER 2, 2016!
An intense chili cook off at work, my boss dresses up at Hillary Clinton why not, a weekend in Zach’s hometown, Austin City Limits, and visiting the Austin Cathedral of Junk!
Enjoy!
Sourdough with avocado on top? Kicking the week off right.
My Tomagatchi is really being a brat – needs to be fed constantly NO SURPRISE and beeps aggressively
Leftover Korean food for lunch at work
The building that we work in does an annual Chili Cookoff and we were invited to participate this year. That means we had to pick a chili theme, cook chili, and there would be a blind judging as well as a popular vote where everybody gets to vote.
We went with “Chillary Clinton” cuz that’s topical and there are some great Hillary memes out there.
Tristan made a computer! You’ll see more chili don’t worry – this was just the set up
Gyoza, mushroom and spinach soup for dinner. It’s so easy to make and so yummy.
Woke up early to get started on the chili for the cookoff
Waiting around while the chili simmers
Working from home in the morning as the chili cooks
Added spam because I’m a sicko
Chili over rice! The four cups for the blind judging
Our Hillary decorations. Okay…guys…clearly I don’t support Trump but some people couldn’t find the humor in Hillary memes.
Trying all the chili from the other floors and kitchens
Alice in Wonderland theme. It was our first year participating…we did NOT realize how intense the decorations got.
Other floors referencing the project my team worked on #GettyInspired ahah
Genius Getty theme where the tiniest treats are SO expensive (like the cafe)
Reading the results…we didn’t win. But wow. What a day.
Sufi getting his fancy wet food
GIANT airport beer. Why is it so big?!?!
Made it to Austin! Zach’s already been out there all week to see his family.
Allegedly the highest point in Austin
Zach’s favorite Austin restaurant, Zuzu’s ahah
Wouldn’t be a summer Austin trip without some lake time
Checked out a thrift shop that I wanted to visit. So many good finds!
Got boba next door after. In heaven.
Went to Esther’s Follies, a comedy/musical/vaudeville/magic show that’s about Austin and pop culture etc. Surprisingly enjoyable if you’re open minded and just enjoy the kitsch.
P. TERRY’S, the cutest burger stand
Went to a Skeeball bar that has a skeeball league
Austin’s Cathedral of Junk, it’s in a guy’s backyard and he made it himself! Just call ahead, reserve a time, donate $10!
It had 3 stories, you could walk up to the very top
It was also rainbow color coordinated
Stopped by the Texas Military Forces Museum
Hopped on the buddies off to the music festival
Festival day 2 ready to rumble
Torchy’s Tacos – my favorite queso. Plus the best, unhealthiest tacos
The next day we drove out to a natural springs
The water is like crystal clear but SOOOO cold
Much love friends.
