MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: SEPTEMBER 5-11, 2016!
Catch up on my weekly photo updates – here was the week at sea and visiting the Southern Alaskan coast with my family and Zach on our family vacation. You’ll see how alarmingly quickly I settled into cruise life and style…sweatpants all day.
Greetings from my cabin! Today is another day at sea.
Passing by a beautiful little island chain that sea lions love to sleep on
Bundled to step outside and photograph some glaciers woo.
Margerie Glacier! The cruise ship parked here and did a very slow turn so everybody on all sides could enjoy.
But the real star…this brown/dirty ice pile in the distance. The Grand Pacific Glacier! The park rangers told us all to give some love to the Grand Pacific. It’s right near Margerie which is beautiful and bright, but the Grand Pacific is the glacier that inspired John Muir!
Toasting to the Grand Pacific
Just unreal and ethereal, like another land.
For dinner, the special Crab Shack night on board!
Yessssss. Happy Waldo.
Raspberry creme brulee
Watching the on board performing crew do their thing
And then enjoyed a roof top, outdoor screening of Now You See Me 2…in the rain.
Our first port! Skagway!
So foggy and atmospheric
Views from Klondike Peak
Tree camouflaged playground for those 6 Skagway kids who live here
Back to the ship! Still a few more hours till we leave Skagway. Why not take a swim?
Freezing but delighted
Pina Colada and swimming while it’s freezing outside? Into this cruise life.
So sweet – wished nothing more than to snuggle these babies
The crazy thing about cruises is food is “included” so you can order more than one dish and not pay extra no questions asked.
Love adults getting competitive over little games
Quick breakfast before the next port!
Another gorgeous atmosphere
Made it to the Mendenhall Glacier
Nugget Falls and the glacier in the distance
I love moss
One last peek
Added my name to the saloon walls
Pleased with herself
My mom thought this placard was describing the two rocks stacked on top, but really it was a giant wall sculpture on the building ahah
We signed up for a wine tasting that came with snacks and pairings ooh lala
Got back my fancy cruise pic ahaha
More buffet glam
Zach made it into the final round of a poker tournament, got a free shirt woo
Room service! Again! Included. All nuts.
Totem Heritage Center
Filipino history ❤
SAAAAD that the cruise is ending. Getting used to this cruise lifestyle of a LOT of trivia, hanging with my parents, wearing sweats, and seeing the most beautiful sights…
Playing basketball with the beautiful city as a background
I beat Zach in one on one and horse so feeling good.
Pulling out of the port
Trivia and old fashioneds. The cruise had happy hour every day, buy one get one drink. Unreal.
End of the cruise balloon drop
Goodbye Waldo at sea
Last night big show “British Invasion”
Dad got a wine for him and my ma
Parents loved it
Always in this outfit
Cruise Newlywed Game!
Balloons have fallen
And Zach won at bingo! What a great cap to the week
Last day of the cruise was at sea, mostly raining
Attempting to win something with raffle tickets we gathered over the week
Steak for my last meal
😦 ALL PACKED
The cruise ended in Vancouver, we wanted through Chinatown
My mom wanted to stop and get some herbs at this Chinese herb shop
Found these candies that I used to love!!!
Outside of the Vancouver Art Museum there was a zombie walk!
Aftermath of the zombie walk
Waited till Zach got dressed so I could purposefully copy him ehehhe
Dinner in Vancouver
Canadian vending machine
Zach and I went crazy for hats (some were gifts!) over the week
Leaving the hotel, lil’ mama
Been saving these all week, perfect time to eat these
BACK TO LA
Took friends out to Gyu-Kaku as a thank you for watching the pups.
And that concludes the week!!!
Much love friends.
