This is Saturday, May 30, 2015!
A day in Portland, Oregon. Visiting Alex, Jill, and their two cutie kitties. A true tourist day out seeing Multnomah Falls, the Japanese Gardens, Rose Garden, and of course doin’ some tacky neon night mini golf.
Enjoy!
Woke up to some eyes staring at me…*hi Katsu*
Washin’ my face, hearin’ kitties outside the door
Alex and I stare at Zeen until he wakes up from the force of our laser beam eyes
Sweet Luna, a little dust bunny
Luna getting stretched, ahh so cute.
Alex ruins my coffee with too much foam. RUINED.
I stare at Katsu while Zeen eats a leftover VooDoo donut.
Alex and Katsu are the same, except one in human form and one in kitty form
Alex failing to wrap his ankle
Out of Beaverton and past Portland
Out looking for Multnomah Falls!
We went a bit too far down the 84, turned around and came back down past Horsetail Falls
Alex and Jill having the time of their lives
I’m so into this moss. We don’t get moss in LA, at least not commonly.
Waldo and mossssy sittin’ a tree
There’s Alex and Jill in the distance from the little bridge.
Great view of the Columbia River!
30 Seconds: Multnomah Falls
Dog on a motorcyle ON the freeway. Where was his helmet!
Noraneko in SE Portland
More garlic porn. Alex and Jill mentioned that Portland is missing really good ramen. This place was okay, the broth wasn’t rich enough for my tastes. If anybody knows any Portland ramen places to try, let me know so I can pass the word on…
Back through downtown, past Powell’s
You can take a shuttle to the top or take this lovely zigzaggy walk
There are 5 Gardens within – the flat garden, the strolling pond garden, tea garden, natural garden and sand and stone garden
I was too chicken to take the bite
This view! From the flat garden area.
International Rose Test Garden
Apparently the “oldest public garden of its kind in the USA”
This garden is one of 24 official testing sites for All-America Rose Selections (who knew!).
In search of the best smelling rose
Back into the city! On a quest for some coffee and a space to recharge
Walked past this game shop, Time Vault Games, popped in and purchased Bang! Walking Dead edition.
I love this sunset colored building
Before and after attempting to toss his hat to land directly on my hand.
Behind the Museum Cafe, a beautiful little cafe with Japanese teas and foods (and also some ceramics and furniture for sale)
Jill very excited about her zenzai! (red bean soup with mochi)
Lovely cafe, check it out if you’re ever near the Portland Art Museum
How much is that kitty in the window
People have been lining up for some kind of parade. After some quick googling, it was the Starlight Parade
Saturday, June 13, Knit in Public Day. That’s the best.
The parade took over downtown, there was a run first and we had to run across to get to our destination
Ready for “Glowing Greens,” a blacklight mini gold experience.
This was in the ticket area for the minigolf…ahah this is gonna be good
This place is huge, there were like 20 holes.
Who knew that something could be both sexy, scary, pirate, and glow in the dark
Back out into the world after coming out from the underworld
Post-parade crazy traffic and people jams
Over to NE Portland, to the Cruzroom
You can get a pitcher of cocktails here
Then it was my turn and Katsu was not happy
A Bob’s Burgers watching party. Can you see the delight, this is Alex’s favorite show.
I guess I fell asleep. Falling asleep next to a camera is dangerous
Much love friends.
