I look out the window and the tree guys are back!!! Noooooo

The city came to cut down some of the trees on our street, so sad

Was worried that when I got home our tree would be gone too 😦

After work I met up with Kiki at Shin Sen Gumi

My fav ramen in LA—slightly updated menu with “combo ramen” (I think for indecisive folks haha)

Walked over to the Nuart Theater to see Raw with my ladies

Went to see Raw, cannibalism, coming of age, female sexuality all wrapped into a film…

The next morning, the tree guys are back…

Thigh bruising? FROM WHAT AM I OK

Enjoyed my subtle bright color pops

On the way to my asian mamas collective dinner and the sky was like WOWWOOWO

Group testing the kimchi fried rice

And when I got home…NOOOOOO THE TREE NOOOOO

I was assembling clothes to pack for the weekend in New York and Sufi wouldn’t let me finish

The one benefit of the missing tree is a crazy amount of light in the kitchen and bedroom

Working on a project I was given last minute, took to the work with some watermelon gummy sharks

Sneaky pic in the conservation studios

Last kisses to Glenn before heading to the airport

He’s discovered Pokemon Go and won’t stop

When Zach goes to see family in New York, we usually take the red eye to save on travel time since the flight is like 5 1/2 hours. This one was especially rough because it was like 9pm LA time and we landed like 5:30am NY time…so we napped until like 9:30 and finally got ready for the day

We got there the day after the big storm they had, there was snow all over the streets

Fascinated by the doggos in this climate…where do they poop

Stopped at one of my fav NY stores…Flying Tiger aka Tiger, the home goods/design store from Copenhagen

So many things I wanted to get…but that made no sense to pack in my suitcase

Tiiiired from the red eye still

Snuck into the Whitney Biennial preview day

Sneaking some poop paintings in there

Late night guac, watermelon and tequila and tacos

Cheeks a lil’ read—shock to the NY weather maybe

Popped into the Japanese book shop

In Eataly, looking at all the breads and then proceeded to watch a crew clean a bottle of olive oil up in like 2 minutes with epson salt. Amazeballs.

New shooooes — wished I could wear them in NY but it was too cold

Textile works by Zach’s sister

Met up with Alyssa who happened to be in town at the same time!

Zach’s ma took us out to see Sweeney Todd at the Barrow Street Theater

This is the theater! It was transformed to look like a pie shop, and they actually had pies to eat before the show started. We sat in these little seats during the show and performers were running up and down the tables and singing/etc. It was a really fun show! I also really only knew of that one Sweeney Todd song that was in Jersey Girl (somehow had that buried deep in my memory bank)

Outside the theater…apparently somebody actually died from falling ice earlier that week

Went to some galleries in Chelsea

Met up with some of Zach’s friends and had a frozen marg at this kitschy bar

Later we went to see Zeen’s fav…Wilco! Almost stole this pup on duty

Then we decided to just walk down to the Lower East Side

169 Bar, snuck in for a quick beer before heading to the airport

Just a quick hotdog while running to the airport

only just the beginning of the journey

Snacks and still chugging through Helter Skelter…
We made it safely back to LA!
Much love friends.
