MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: AUGUST 19–25, 2019!

A week that revolved around food, photography gigs, and seeing friends around the dinner table. And, I finally bring home a pottery set I’m proud of!

Enjoy!

Some new babies in pottery tonight: I’m thinking one will become a planter, and another is an alternate vase shape to the ones I’m making for Kiki.

Always fun when I get to take home a box of pieces.

A question that you may or may not feel inclined to answer? So! Let’s do it. I invite you to answer in the comments:

What’s the wildest thing you’ve had an a maki roll? The Louisiana style fried chicken this week was pretty fun (and spicy).

Much love friends!

  1. Finally had time to catch up with your posts – I kinda miss the good old livejournal days where I had the time to check in regulary. But it’s really fun seing your friends from high school, cause I remember them too 🙂

Wildest maki roll is one with strawberry in it. Never really thought about it, only knew those with fish or cucumber – but it was surprisingly tasty. I wish we had more crazy ones around here… (Or any of that awesome food you post for that matter ;))

Reading through those posts, I had these questions pop up in my head:
    – Did giving up dairy help you (yet)?
    – What do you do with all the puzzles you make? I love puzzles, but I wouldn’t even have the storage. Do you borrow them and give them back afterwards? Or have some secret puzzle stash?
    – Same goes for your pottery. I’m really impressed by how good your pieces look and also a bit jealous cause I would love to try that as well. But yet again – I wouldn’t have any storage. Don’t you have hundreds of pieces already? What’s your storage secret?
    – Or: Is your house that big? With the outdoor cinema (which is super cool btw) it seems like it is huuuuge…

Sorry for the many questions, I think I read 12 posts today 😉

  2. I applaud you on the symmetry of those mugs! They’re amazing! I found a small arts center here that does a Friday night ceramics class (4 weeks in a row) that I am going to sign up for once I have a little more free time.

My favorite maki roll is from a place called Dragon King’s Daughter in Louisville, KY. It’s a Japanese/Mexican fusion type of place. The roll that I love is called “the Italian Picnic” and has asparagus tempura, proscuitto, basil, Japanese mayo, and pine nuts. A little different, but AMAZING.

I’ve been following along with you for years now and am always excited to see a new post. I love your photography and the way it reminds me of the LJ days. What does Zach do for a living? I know that he was producing those live shows/podcast comedy shows, but realized that I don’t know what he does now! Seems strange to ask.

Hope you’re having an incredible time in Japan!
