MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: NOVEMBER 26–DECEMBER 2, 2018!
A week getting into the festive spirit. We get a real live Christmas tree, eat some Japanese bbq, and I spend more time with my family as we wait for Snow.
Enjoy!
Good morning, unfortunately Snow report is still that he’s missing.
The new medication for my “moderate adult acne” has brought my eczema up on my cheeks, very dry, my skin very thirsty, but I’m hanging in there.
Took a photo of this cafe lunch, but it wasn’t very good.
Put up the tiny tree from our old apartment
Atmosphere coming together here
We wanted to get a real tree this year, gotta measure to be sure we pick a good one.
Wanted to try a place we haven’t been to on Sawtelle. Manpuku Tokyo BBQ!
Super super yummy! A little pricey, but we picked some good cuts and probably could have had one less dish.
Then we ventured over to Daiso so we could stock up on our advent calendar goodies.
I spent way longer picking out my items for the calendar than Zach did…hmmm, wonder what he got.
A super rainy day in Los Angeles
But of course a beautiful rainbow
I like walking around the Getty when it’s a little dreary.
Trying to make Alyssa’s cats love me.
Tweedy, king of ear infections.
Dressed up in my comfy clothes. I’m off to try a new acupuncture place.
Went out in search of poke near a Home Depot, ended up at a too-fancy place with fancy water.
It all ended up being really really delicious.
There was a boba place next door, couldn’t resist.
After a bit of hunting, we found one that caught our eye in the display area. They let us take him! We named him Douglas, he’s a noble fir.
Successfully got the tree on the car!
Thank u, next is out, had to watch it on the big screen.
On Saturday I left to take some family photos for some friends of the family. It’s holiday card season.
Then went with my parents to run some errands.
We passed an adoption sale, particularly sad cuz we’re still waiting for Snow to come home. But look at all the sweet little babies (YES cats sitting on cats)
Parents going in on the share plate and the hummus.
The next morning, out to breakfast.
With the little cousins shooting their holiday card
They are working on being able to cross their eyes
Behind the cute photos are the elbowing moments
Walked around the rose garden after we shot, it was so fragrant and pleasant. My little cousin’s asked the rose garden volunteers what it takes to name a new rose, and they told them they had to pollinate and invent their own. They were up for the challenge.
Got home and started editing photos from those shoots, gotta get those holiday cards out and ready to go.
Realized we missed a few days already oops, so we had to hurry and wrap our little gifts and add them to the advent calendar. I put mine in the even days.
Wrapped up the boy and then we left
We don’t have enough pubs in LA really
Chicken pot PIEEEE that was truly surprisingly delicious and was so warming and great.
At night this has become the best room
Put up ornaments, including the tree topper of me as an astronaut
I’ll end the week here.

Some questions that you may or may not feel inclined to answer? I have let this slip for a few weeks, but I always love reading your answers. So! Let’s do it. I invite you to answer in the comments:
- How was your week?
- What’s the best present you ever got?
- What’s a good last minute present idea?

It was alright! Lots of holiday events at work, and finishing up some freelance jobs. Mentally in a little funk, I’m worried about Snow, my parents, getting older and I think all those doom-like thoughts happen for me around the end of year anyways. Wow, too much. - What’s the best present you ever got?
I think I’ve already asked this, but still curious! I am still so appreciative of the backpack Zach gave me one year, it is the school backpack all kids wear in Japan. I mentioned that I wanted one when we watched Totoro together for the first time, and then *bam* it was mine a few months later. SO surprising and thoughtful. - What’s a good last minute present idea?
Hand-painted card? I have no idea, asking because I feel like I’m a terrible gift shopper…

Thank you for reading! Much love friends.
I hope Snow returns! Also, it’s so hard to find good pubs and they’re even dying out in the UK!! So it’s rather sad, especially since they’re such a nice addition to a neighbourhood.
How was your week?
My week was all right. It felt rather long, tbh.
What’s the best present you ever got?
I’ve gotten so many good presents in my life! I got a handmade corset once, that was awesome.
What’s a good last minute present idea?
A journal and a nice pen.

Pubs are dying out in the UK?? Whaaaat! Why do you think that is?

I think it’s the cost of rent. Many of them are joining chains to help, almost like co-op pubs!
