MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: APRIL 16–22, 2018! (VILLA, PINK’S HOTDOGS, MOM’S YEARBOOK)
A big work celebration at the start of the week, comedy with a side of hot dog, and a visit from Zach’s little brother. I also return to my alma mater, Chapman University, for the afternoon, and watch my little cousin’s play basketball.
Enjoy!
Happy Monday—here’s Sufi on a pillow.
BCD soft tofu kit with Japanese veggies and gyoza for dinner. Yeah, still need to work on my puzzle.
Trying to expand my hobbies and work away from the computer more often. Got a lot of help from the instructor but I’m proud of my plate!
Finally starting Mindhunter, this book (originally published in 1995) is by the pioneers of criminal profiling. His team interviewed the most horrific serial killers (before serial killers were even labeled as such) and tried to get into their mind to better assist law enforcement in catching them. There’s a Netflix show based on the book, if the name sounds familiar…
I apologize to my mom for this outfit, and for never ironing my pants.
Happy Tuesday! Today I get to go to the Villa.
The Villa officially reopens in its entirety today.
Little cousins made it to the promo posters!
Plato in LA installation of play-doh by Jeff Koons.
Zach attempting to recreate a pasta dish we had in Rome. We finally are using the noodles from Eataly.
Got ready and then went back to my room to put away some clothes and Tweedy was sitting on them.
Went to Women Crush Wednesdays at the Hollywood Improv with Mandy and Zeen.
For dinner? Trying Pink’s Hotdogs. A Los Angeles classic.
Thursday! I walked outside and it was raining…surprise! Threw on a rain jacket.
Thursday eve, Zach’s brother arrived to stay for the weekend.
Lauren Tsai? (ehhh, Terrace House anybody?) Game night at Kiki’s
Visiting the Getty! There’s a great Egypt in the classical world show.
The show highlights intercultural exchange between the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians.
The sarcophygus of a Greek immigrant to Egypt who rose through the ranks
The sharing of sculptural styles, religions, materials and more.
Beyond the Nile: Egypt and the Classical World, you can read more about the show if you’re curious on the exhibition website.
I saw a photo of this hippo on the website but didn’t realize how huge it was! It was used in a garden. It’s a fountain!
Bust of Antinous, found in Hadrian’s Villa. Antinous tragically drowned in the Nile River, and Hadrian mourned the loss of his lover and companion by founding a city near the site of his death. He also established a cult in his honor.
We also went to see the Rembrandt/India exhibition.
Photography show about early photographic techniques.
Photography show about contemporary photographers addressing material in their process.
Been a while since going to the galleries, so it was a nice visit.
Ready to return to school today!
Back to art school! It’s Chapman. Flashback to 2008-2012. 🙂
WAH the photography lab schedule. Reminiscening. It’s a Saturday, so no students around. I just poked around and everything was the same.
Wow free pads and tampons in the bathroom!
Can everybody tell I’m way older than an undergrad
Dorms! OH so I was there for admitted students day, to support a cousin who might come here.
Showing her some sound stages.
Animation students now have their own amazing space.
I was worried it’d be sad or weird to be back where I went to college, but enough time has passed that it was a fun afternoon.
OB Bear for some spicy korean fried chicken.
Rutt’s for brekkie before Zach’s little bro goes to the airport.
Watching the little one ball while bigger one reads Babysitter’s Club and baby baby wears a hat. Can you believe??
Looking for snakes. But she just found some trash. Bummer.
Went home for some homecooked dinner, and my mom gifted me a new orchid wahhhh so beautiful.
“Only post the scallops if they look good!”
Beautiful dinner with scallops and crab and homyu, yuuuummmmmmm. Thank you, mama.
How many Snow pics is too many?
Mom’s yearbook from high school. Can you guess which is my mom and which is her twin?
I’ll leave you with this cute photo of my mom and her twin as song girls. Still not really sure what that means but she assured me it was different than a cheerleader.
Much love friends.
This is random but you gave me some good eczema advice a while ago so I wanted to tell you that I tried Lush’s Dream Cream (from all the internet hooplah lately) and so far it’s working great! My eczema is mostly on my neck, shoulder and back and I’ve been using the Dream Cream for about a week. Prior to that I was using Aveeno’s Eczema cream and also an rx steroid cream. Both of those worked on and off but so far the Dream Cream has been most effective. Just sharing in case you want to try it sometime! (I don’t work for Lush haha)

! Thank you so much for the suggestions. I want to get back into Lush. I used to really like a sensitive skin face mask they make too. I’ll check it out.

I like trying new things, but I also wish I could get really good at one thing…*maybe one day*
Mindhunter is good! It’s way more casual than I imagined it’d be written, but I’m enjoying it.
YES! Good eye with my mom. I got the first one wrong.
