MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: JANUARY 15–21, 2018 (HOMECOOKING, TONKATSU, FREELANCE PHOTO WORK, ALONE TIME)
With the apartment to myself, I find myself surprisingly productive. I spend time cooking, cleaning, working, and dancing in my kitchen (yes I totally did that like a cheesy movie montage). Enjoy!
Woke up with Peanut in my lap. She’s going back home today, but it’s been fun having her in my face in the morning.
I’m off work today because of MLK Day, a National Holiday. I decided to update my Bangkok Day 2 post (which you can read here) while Peanut watched closely.
Dinner time rolled around and Kiki and Ders arrived with takeout from ROC Dumpling house.
Friends are over to do a casual game night, we played three different things: Bang (Walking Dead edition), Skulls & Roses, and the firefighting game which is name is escaping me now.
We were missing some pieces so Santa BB8 got to play. This is a game where you play as a team to rescue people from a burning house. We lost. 😦
Morning! Happy Tuesday. Off to catch my 7am carpool.
Got home Tuesday night and Zach was looking guilty…(yes, all my photo stuff is stuffed in the kitchen. I’m not 100% done with my job so I don’t want to pack stuff away just yet).
Aw, he broke one of my bowls. It’s okay, it was an accident.
He was attempting a steak recipe
That sauce was pretty friggin good. Cilantro, habanero peppers, sesame oil, garlic…
Retreated to my workroom to do some editing.
Still one of my favorite cups. Made some tea!
Sometimes a warm light makes all the difference to make a room feel cozier. So much nicer than my overhead light.
Finally edited photos from my ADIML I shot on Christmas Day. I know, it’s been a while. I’ll probably still post it because I want to be able to look back on holidays with family.
Starting to edit the jewelry product shots I shot over the last weekend for a freelance gig.
Wednesday! Cozy, tired, eczema irritating me. It’s been super dry here, drier than usual, and my skin is just upset.
Only a few more weeks to see Golden Kingdoms, we popped over there to see the new objects just added to the exhibition.
Such a fascinating show, really.
I know I always say this, but it was nice to leave my desk.
Dinner Wednesday night. Out to grab some dinner at the Mituswa food court plus do some shopping.
I got the tendon with extra shrimp that I usually get, plus a bowl of hot soba (I’ve never tried soba intentionally hot before). I am suspicious the owners have changed….the batter on the tempura seems different. Still tasty though, just not as phenomenal as a few years ago.
Blurry weird photo of my meats and Zach on his way out to a comedy show.
Kiki drove me back to my place and we played some Mario Odyssey.
Trying to like my face again *sigh* I feel like I’m re-going through puberty and really self-conscious of my face recently.
Tristan came over and we finally resumed the #TristyWatchesGoT journey.
Caught a beautiful sunset as I was leaving the office.
I wasn’t feeling *super* well, I was worried I was catching the flu that everybody seems to have gotten. I decided to go home and rest.
Started End of the F**king World (thanks for your suggestion, Jamie!) which I’m really digging so far.
Working on powering through editing for these product shots.
Was up pretty late, almost till 2am. But I finished the product shots! *Yessss*
Decided I needed to get my shit in order and clean the apartment, especially my stove which always seems to get and stay dirty.
Also I’m finally gluing this!!
It was knocked off the wall accidentally and broke, and the wall looks so empty without it.
Cleared the living room to set up for a portrait shoot with the jeweler I’ve been working with.
My skin has been terrible, but at least my pants are so comfortable.
After shooting, I walked to Target to get some stuff. Mostly boring household things that I’ve been putting off replacing.
Back home with the afternoon and evening to myself. I put on some Mitski and decdied to tackle a tonkatsu recipe my mom sent to me.
*Derp* What have I gotten myself into!
Getting ready to deep fry for the first time.
Ambiance. My new candle I got on clearance at Target ha.
It came out!!!!! Want to see the full tonkatsu recipe and journey? Check out my last post, the first “Yonsei Cooking.”
I wish I could get as comfortable as Tweedy looks all the time.
It’s back up!!! I spent the rest of the evening treating myself to the first season of Orange is the New Black. I know I’m like…years late on this. But obsessed so far.
Happy Sunday! Off to see my parents.
Also need to return this…accidentally purchased the wrong size.
Was nice to spend time with my parents outside of the house, let them breath a little on the town ahah.
After I got home, Kiki stopped by to quickly shoot more casual jewelry photos for my freelance job. I promised some shots that could be used on her Instagram, so we made sure to get some away from the studio.
Spent Sunday evening working on some illustrations (4 for Mindy!) and one for Lauren that I’m still ~in progress~ on.
Still havn’t fully put away my lights, I just want to be sure that my jewelry job is complete.
Preview of the next “Yonsei Cooking.” Not as photogenic as the last but tasty!
My colleague tagged me in that black and white challenge thing on Instagram, it ended up being really fun to think back to the basics in black and white.
Sunday night…surprise surprise…more editing! This time for an infant photography job + OITNB in the background. What a contrast.
I must say, it was *such* a nice weekend to myself. Playing music, cooking, working and feeling productive, spending quality time with myself on my own timeline. I feel refreshed! Hope your week is going well…
Much love friends!
Yay glad you like End of the F***ing World!
You seem to play a lot of board games. Any recommendations on your favorites? I’m obsessed with them! My favorites are the co-op game Pandemic and two player game Patchwork!

omg that panko is GLUTEN FREE?! I commented in your last post but only just noticed now!
I have coeliac disease and enjoyed your post but wrote it off because I’ve never found gluten free panko breadcrumbs in my life and I felt jaded at the thought of using ~~normal~~ breadcrumbs. Let us hope and pray that these make their way to England soon!

Yes! It’s gluten-free! You might be able to find it at an Asian grocer? If you have one near you!

Have you tried coconut oil for your eczema? Or products that contain coconut oil? I’ve heard that it helps people manage flare ups and the itchiness (I don’t have eczema myself to give you a testimonial). Also, I’d love to order a print from you but I don’t remember the website you linked to. P.S. I also love the clearance candles from Target! lol

Thank you! I haven’t tried coconut oil but I like the idea of keeping my “treatment” more natural.
